Being ex-military and reading you e-mail you posted. I would say read up on the outlook of Russian population for American people. You may be walking in to a hot spot.

thanks spamer, after i received that last e-mail it is definitely something i will look into.
i will call her in the morning and find out where she heard this information. She was probably talking to her father or perhaps herd it in red square today. Gino

I think... Give her time to calm down a bit, gino, and try to understand her reaction. Then you can find out what's more safe for you about traveling.

Ciao!

Spamer may be right... but contact the American embassy in Moscow to determine the situation. I would think that it still should be safe to go to Moscow in October. In fact, I am thinking of going with my girlfriend to Moscow and Saint Petersburg in October or November (if my schedule will allow returning to Ukraine.)

And then behave normally and try dress up, anyousmyly, then I am sure it will be fine.

Just be ready to wait and doudle check everything in the airport.

Hello Panel,

Why worry? worrying shows a weakness in your life, be brave and go and God will look after you.

Neil

Good for you, Neil. I travel everywhere too and never worry. A couple guys mugged me once, hit me from behind with a board, and took the bag off my back but I chased them down knocked one down and got it back. The other guy saw that and dropped the bag and kept running. It was probably stupid of me to chase them and confront them but I was just so angry that all I could think about was getting them. When things like that happen you just act without thinking. If they had a gun they would have shot me for chasing them. The bag had all my juggling clubs in it and I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted it anyway.

These guys are just overexaggerating the nonsense that the U.S. had something to do with the school killings. There is no big anti U.S. setiment there and I'm gladly going to St. Petersburg in November and will not hide at all. I have nothing to hide from, in fact, they should thank me for all the sacrifices America has made in the war on terror for the protection of everyone.

I think that its not foolish or showing weakness to know if there are going to be problems when travelling abroad. God , if he exists , does not protect me from my own fool hardy decisions and one fool hardy decision may be to travel to a country where I may place myself in a situation of grave danger - this may or may not be the case in Moscow - but it is wise to check with the embassy to find out first- this is not a sign of weakness it is just common sense .
