I've heard there is some island or resort area that is popular for Americans and Russians to meet at because they don't require a visa for Russians to go there. Does anybody know where that is?

Wow...so there's lots a places to choose from.

My problem is that the woman I want to meet is in Novosibirsk and I want to meet her in November or so but it's just too cold there. We were thinking of meeting in St. Petersburg but if there's some vacation spot we can go to, we would rather do that. What do you guys think I should do?

Why would you NOT want to meet her on her home turf? Don't you want to see her world? That would tell you tons about her.

If Novosibirsk is too cold for you, so will St Pete also be too cold. Take a good coat.

Castlestormer really hit the nail on the head , JR , if you want to know this woman the best thing to do is visit her in her country.
St Petersburg is awesome as is Moscow - and yeh bring a warm hat and warm shoes it will be cold

Pete

Yeah you guys are right. I really should meet her on her home turf. I'm from San Diego where the weather is 75 degrees all the time so I will freeze a bit. Hey, maybe she'll snuggle up to me to keep me warm.

Cyprus is indeed very nice. I went two summers ago and had a great time.

However, I would also like to throw Egypt out there. My husband and I just got back last week and it was probably the best place we've been. Visas are issued right in the airport (for both US and FSU citizens)--no hassles whatsoever. We stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort in Hurghada which has a very nice private beach. You can take scuba diving excusions to the coral reef, motocycle desert safaris, bus trips to Luxor, Cairo, and the pyramids. There's really a lot to see and the weather should be fairly nice in November.

Two big thumbs up.

Jill i was wondering if you could recommend a villa or hotel in cyprus? thanks gino

I was in Limassol. I know there's a Le Meridien there which is supposed to be very nice. There are actually quite a few hotels there--it's a fairly popular tourist destination. I actually don't remember the exact name of the hotel I stayed at--it was called something like Arsenio. It was decent, but fairly no frills.
