Hi Everyone,

In a situation in the RMP forums, one member who was upset by how another member responded to them in a message, felt upset and went on a spontaneous rampage

and deleted all 200 or so of their posts and threads

This lead to several posts having gaps in the logic of the discussion.

Because of this incident, I decided that the best thing for the forum would be to limit the amount of time that someone can edit their posts to 24 hours after they have posted. (24 hours is the maximum time that I can set in the software's admin panel).

If there is a post that really needs to be edited after 24 hours, then a member can contact me and I can edit the post for them.

But, what that member did in erasing their dozens and dozens of posts, was really to cause harm to the threads that that person had participated in...

Later, this member apologized for erasing these threads and admited that it was done in when this person was emotional...

So, we have applied a 24 hour limit to the ability to edit posts.

I hope that you can understand why we have done this.
