Hi Everyone...

Has anyone ever recived a haircut in Russia, Belarus, or Ukraine?

I actually received one haircut in Mogilev (Belarus), and the lady hairdresser actually really took her time.

I guess it is not the custom to give them tips... I think that the haricut was about $3 to $5, and when I wanted to give her a $1 tip, she seems a bit unsure of whether she should take it or not...

When I told Lena that I gave her a tip, Lena (who I had just spent about 3 weeks with at this time) seemed genuinely shocked, and told me that I shouldn't do that

the two best haircuts i ever had were from my exGF in Odessa...she's a hair stylist and brought her tools to her house and cut my hair there...she also really took her time, was meticulous and i thought my hair never looked better...she did an excellent job!

she didn't buy it when i tried to explain that in america it's customary for the stylist to be topless when they cut hair

i did ask about tipping and she said she did receive tips...

my tip for her: don't eat the yellow snow!

Interesting thread Khashyar.....much of my disaappointment over our lost relationship is that i am very curious about these kinds of mundane day to day activities and i won't have a chance to learn more about them....
