New logo choices for the Russian Reviews

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi Everyone,

I am going to probably move the "Russian Reviews" to another website... Either on the "Russian Internet Guide," or on its own website (I have registered www.russianreviews.com)...

Here is one front page logo for the Russian Reviews that I have created:

(I'm still going to refine it a bit... Let me know what you think of it).

Thank you,

Khashyar

Hi Everyone,

Do you think that Russian people might have a negative association to the red color and the Soviet symbol on the logo?

Here is another possiblity...

And another variation....

I like the red logo. As for Russians being offended by the red and the symbol, I don't think they would. Then again I could be wrong. Plus I imagine most of your visitors will be from the US. Of course I could be wrong there.

Anyway, the red one looks the coolest.

And another variation....

Eh.... I still dig the first one.

Thanks for your thoughts, Ty....

(what do you think of this newest one that I posted?)

Sorry to be a turd in the punchbowl here...but...

The hammer and sickle have to go. Although they are widely known symbols for the FSU, they are associated with oppression and an old, hard way of life. The worker and the farm collective worker are places in the old Soviet empire that were very uninspiring. I know I am probably being a hypocrite, because I have lots of h/s stuff myself and still wear many t-shirts with the symbol on it. I have a big red star and the h/s on my fur shapka. But to many Russians, the symbol has a negative connotation associated with it. And as a man who does a brilliant job of seeing that nobody is alienated Khashyar, that symbol might subliminally do just that to a few.

I'm probably just being oversensitive though. Count me as one vote against.

Thanks for your opinion and feedback, Steve...

I was wondering whether some Russians might see the hammer and sickle as oppressive.

I asked Lena about this, and she didn't think that Russians would associate it with something negative...

But, I would love to get other opinions aside from my wife's

Feel free, Everyone, to post your opinion and thoughts...

I still like the first one. I think it's the most interesting one. I think I just don't like the color combo's of the rest.

Hi Ty...

Thanks for your feedback...

I also feel the same way that I like the first logo's colors...

I think that what I may do is to put the modern Russian flag (with blue, white and red bars) in teh background behind the Soviet Symbol, so as to evoke the modern Russia as well...

I appreciate your feedback.
