My fiancee wants to privatize her flat in Gomel. Does any one have experience with this? Costs, timeframes, anything at all is helpful. Thanks!

This one might be a difficult situation. I am sure it will be a long and complicated process. I will ask my wife if any of her friends or maybe Aunts did this, and what the process is.

I know in Minsk, there are certain restrictions. Most of it has to do with a law called which keeps people in the rural areas, from coming into the city.

But it may be just a local law in Minsk, and not apply to Gomel or any other Belarusian city.

I think that it would be better for her to get a legal consultation regarding privatization in Belarus. Also she can look for Belarus Law about privatization.
