I Think it's a great idea that you are building up the site with new articles. There is a glut of websites that keep repeating the same old stuff again and again.

I know that what I am suggesting here is not exactly a new idea, but I think that there is not enough information available on how couples have got on, once they got married and "she" came over.

I have seen a few posts on the website by members who have married and brought their brides over. I would be really interested in the opinions of these couples over a period of time to see how the women settled in and how the relationship fared.

Most of the articles I have seen cover only a short period, it would really be interesting to see how couples fared over a period of time, the kind of adjustments they have made (other than the usual adjustments they would have to make in a marriage).

Building on Zulu's idea: maybe some more practical information/advice on moving to the US. Not just the cultural stuff, but more along the lines of job placement, employment options, qualifications, FSU education and how it transfers (or, more often than not, does NOT transfer) into US universities and equivalent degrees. HOw does a newly arrived immigrant find his/her first job and what should he/she expect? And how do they provide references to future employers when their previous employers are located inthe FSU and generally don't speak English? That's an article I would definitely read. Frankly, some of these other topics seem rather naive, if not simply clicheed.

Thanks for the feedback,

As far as employment adjustment issues and topic of that kind, perhaps it would be good to interview a job placement counselor and post an interview/ article based on that interview.

As far as the list of the other article ideas that I posted in the top of the thread, I compiled a list of articles that I thought many people would be interested in and that would provide useful and wanted information.

My aim in providing more articles for others is to help them with information that they want and that would help them.

In my opinion, if some of the topic ideas are ones that have been written about before, providing a different perspective about those topics can be of use to others.

Hi Everyone,

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day.

I would like to write our Mogilev Office Coordinator/ Manager (Masha) about which articles and essays that she should commission from Russian writers so that we can post them on the Russian Meeting Place website...

I have thought about a couple of interview surveys that could be interesting and hopefully useful to others:

1) A survey of women in Russia which asks them 5 questions or so, and then we could post and group all of their answers in 5 answer sections in an article.

2) I also thought about doing the same thing with Russian grandmothers (asking them 5 intersting questions, and then posting their responses)

3) I would also like to send a survey to married Russian-Western couples who live in the U.S., and post their answers anonymously so that we could learn about life as a R-W married couple.

4) Fourthly, perhaps we could also interview and post anonymous answers of Russian women who have already lived in the West...
