I loved shashlik my last visit to Moscow, but never seen any last year in Kiev. Anybody know a good place to find some. shashlik!

You bettcha!
I personally recommend the "Little Cossack" for all traditional dishes with fantastic results. And since it's a bit out of the way the price isn't too bad either.

Hey Mike I had the same problem, there are hardly any "restaurant reviews" for Kiev. If you have some details {location, menu etc} it would be great to know for the next trip

LOL, I got so turned around trying to remember the cabbies route.. I basicly think it's in the west/central part of the city but I would just ask the cabbie to take you there. Print a pic of the sign and show them????? The meals are prepared to your order and I wouldn't count on fast. The restraunt has many different small buildings that are the private dining rooms so the layout id a tad weird. Lot'sa old antique knick naks scattered about to look at. The waiters and waitresses are dressed in the traditional outfits too. I'll look for more of the pics from there.

My wife say there a lot of good restaurants. when I go to a new city or anywhere at that I ask the locals where the best at. They alway knows the best places.

Thanks... My friend in Kiev did not know where someplace was that served shashlik. Maybe she just does not eat shashlik. LOL, west, I will be on the left bank that is a long drive for a piece of meat but if nothing else pops up I will try it!

Are you looking up river when you say the left bank? The one I mentioned is on the west side of the river.

There's a coffee shop in Kiev---whose name escapes me. Good stuff, but slow and inefficient service.

I don't know why but the left bank is on the east side of Kiev. I see where your suggested place is, but I figure if I am all the way over there I can go a few more miles for shashlik if I don't see it someplace else. At least I know I will be getting some.

LOL Raspberry I know several coffee shops in Kiev, most are Double Coffee and used to be Nescafe`. I love O'panas restaurant as well, but no sweeney shashlik there .

This will be my third trip to Kiev now (I was there again in October), but my first time to be on the "left side".

I went to O'panas too, interesting place. They had some Cossacks doing a swordfight as entertainment when we were there.
