Missing Part of the Story

One of the girls I have been corresponding with(who speaks excellent English, incidentally)apparently is not paying attention to what I am saying.

Recently, I found out that I might be on a temporary work assignment in Moscow. This hasn't happened yet, but I am under consideration for it.
I mentioned this to the girl, and she says that I shouldn't go to Moscow, as it is really expensive, and i shouldn't waste my money there..........which is ironic, since I mentioned in the letter that if I do go, the company will pay for hotels and a meal allowance.

This is not the only case....I have been seeing a pattern with this girl where I would say something in a letter, only to have details ignored.

Normally, I write about five paragraphs in a typical letter. Should I shorten this, or is it the girl's particular deal?

Keep doing what you are doing! She's skimming thru for some reason. Point out the details if necessary.

Raspberry

5 Paragraphs? are they long paragraphs, short paragraphs? is roughly the letter 1000 words or less?
I would say if they are 1000 words or less, roughly one page, then the length should not pose to difficult.

You say she knows English good, so I am going to assume these letters are not being translated for her.
If she is not understanding or mis-comprehending the meanings maybe her English level is less then what you feel or less then what she feels it may be. Or your sentence structure is complicated and look at simplifing the sentences.

another is she is receiving a lot of letters and is not taking the time to read and understand what you are writing, just scaning the letter for main points and sending off a reply.

third alternative is she is just a scatter brain.

another she may just not want you to go to Moscow because of all the women.

but I would suspect that it is more a combination of your sentence structure and her English ability is not as high as has been judged. but I would also no discount thet she is recieving many letters and not taking time to read yours.

Is it possible she is just commenting about how expensive it will be generally? I mean is she saying you shouldn't go there cause its to expensive for you to pay for or is she saying it even for the company it will be to expensive? Not knowing to much about her I would give her the benefit of the doubt atm and maybe try to clarify it in another letter by asking if she meant for you specifically or just in general for the company.

If they don't pay attention to what you say in letters -
That's a big red flag for me....

If she mis-understands that's one thing but if she is not paying attention...

Isn’t she blonde? I cannot help thinking of those blonde jokes… holding a sign "Please speak louder, I am a blonde"

Irina is always commenting on how expensive it is there (especially places like Moscow). I'd reiterate to her that the COMPANY is paying for it. If she's ignoring your questions or concerns in your correspondence though I'd try to get to the bottom of that quickly. My first experience with that senario was a confirmed scammer (never answered a question) and the second one was PROBABLY a scammer ( had to push hard to get an answer).

I'm with Chillidog though. Simplify your writing style and ask specific questions. Only ask one or two Qs and keep the rest of the letter short and see what happens. If she's legit you'll get better results. I even wrote letters to scammer #2 in Russian and English, using IM translator by Prompt, which got an expression of happininess from her, but then we went right back to no answers.

I write notes and short stories for Irina using the same program and she loves it and appreciates my effort even though the translations aren't the best sometimes.

Udachi,

Perhaps she thinks you own the business? Therefore she thinks it's your $$$ being spent on the trip.

Not making excuses for her but I've had that translation problem before with foreign women (not FSU women yet..)

Cmon now Stirlitz, not all blondes are air heads, I agree that some are, but my lady is a blonde and she is one of the smartest women I have ever met. Plus she has a memory like an elephant, never forgets a thing, especially something that I have said in the past....LOL. I can't throw any BS past her either, she will spot it before I finish the sentence

LOL! I bet she's an artificial blonde!

I think it's working, guys......got an e-mail from her this morning, and it looks like she understood everything I said. Plus she asked a few questions. So, I will keep continuing to do this.

By the way, I still haven't heard what the company's plans are yet...but I am still hoping for the Moscow work assignment. We'll see how it goes.

Xoroшая Raspberry!! (Good Job).

Nothing like a little clear communication mixed with tons of patience to smooth the ride out.
