Tweaking Trip Plans

I've come to an interesting point in getting the next trip going. I've decided that Sochi(or anywhere in Russia) is out, and to keep this trip simple as possible.

The new girl in Mariupol, as I had mentioned, does not want to meet in her home town, for privacy reasons. Looks like we will meet in Crimea or Kiev instead......but I still plan to make a stop(1-2 days) in Mariupol for other reasons(ethnic/social work, shopping, shashlik).

Have most days off, except for the second. It would be nice to get that off, so I can leave on the 30th instead of the third.

Also have the issue of the fact of two holidays--Labor Day(1 May) and Victory Day(9 May)being both on the trip. Don't know how the availability of accomodations or ground transportation is. But I can't really do anything yet, until I get a few other issues done first.

Hopefully, I can get a day off on the second, which will give me three more days available. Most likely, I will fly into Kharkov, spend a couple of days each in Sumy and Mariupol. The order of the rest will depend on the ladies. So, Crimea next, otherwise longer stay in the end at Kiev. And 4-5 days in Zaporozhye in between.

It's kind of a "hump day" of sorts. Getting my taxes in. Also, selling some of my music equipment. I planned to sell it anyway, to upgrade it, at some point......so might as well do it now.

So, things are getting interesting again. Just have to tweak a few things. But if I get all my days off, I will probably be able to make a "seamless" trip, for all involved.

It’s OK.

The Sumy girl said meeting in either Sumy or Kiev is fine. I'm hoping to hear back from the Mariupol girl tomorrow by e-mail(don't have her phone and she speaks Russian only).....I'm hoping she prefers Crimea....the last thing I want is to have most of the trip be in Kiev---which is much more expensive than any other city in Ukraine. If I have to blow bucks, I'd at least want to do this and see something different and/or get some beach action.

Nothing against Kiev, but I hate to be drained out of cash a second time just for the accomodations. That could be better spent on gifts for the lady, etc.
And besides, if I have some friends who want me to show them Ukraine, at a later date, guess where the first place they would want me to take them? Certainly not Mariupol!!

I am by myself and have agendas that don't necessarily require being in Kiev.

Hopefully, my tax refund deposit come back this week, so I can have a bit more "slack" or "cushion".

One of my customers, as I find out, is from Ukraine used to work with one of the "big-box" agencies, and is still connected with people there. She has been very helpful, but really is pro-Kiev, since she had lived there for a number of years. Yes, there is a lot more to do there, and you won't be bored, but you will spend lots of money........heck, I might as well go to Moscow(a city I've never been to) instead.

So, I've got a few contingency plans in order. Most likely I will leave out of Kiev. But I am unsure if I will go to Sumy, or Crimea, or do split duty at Kiev on both ends.

Still scratching my head......

I think I will move the continuation of this onto another area since it's more about my own plans, rather than general information.
