Reverse scam?

I recently got an unsolicited contact via a social website which looked quite scammy but when I Googled it, it took me to a website of probable scams with the related pics. The name and place were there although not this particular pic *but* another pic was there (inc a Russian passport), which on the initial social website was attributed to a girl from London, no mention of Russia.

On the scam site it did mention that photos of genuine women are often used without consent which had me wondering what is it? Is it a genuine London girl? Pics of a Russian girl being posted by a Londoner pretending to be that girl or a phishing post collecting details pass to others.

I did comment and message the 'London' girl re one of her pics before seeing her pics on the scam site, but haven't received any messages back scammy or otherwise.

Any ideas?

Play it out but beware..
But IMO don't bother and look elsewhere. Why waste your time when your gut is telling you to move on.

This is an interesting resource:-

I tried the picture search and none already posted there. I also Googled the email address and it only showed a couple of times, and not as a scam address.

Ditto. Forget about it.

1 and 0 so far. All the Russian women I've met have been in my country. They were all a little on the fantasist side, like this contact, but many locals are too.

I just got a recent message with no response to my specific queries about her town and weather, which my known genuine contact is always keen to talk about. She's also interested in things which I'm not, so my conscience is reasonably clear that I didn't act unfriendly to a genuine contact.

Good! Look for a common basis for a start. They probably won't do motorsports but they'll have something good going on. If you don't get aswers to specific questions after a bit move on.. It's possibly a scam in the making.

Probably. The email content 'sounded' like it had been through an on-line translator, although she said she could speak English. Also the text had a strange format of a continuous block of single and broken sentences with no word wrapping or paragraph breaks (like blank verse). Don't know if that text format is typical or atypical, but very hard to work read.

I wouldn't worry about the format too much. An email goes thru a number of servers before reaching you. It could loose a byte here and there and mess up the format of the letter. Have you ever seen an email that has been forwarded a bunch of times? Same thing, the format gets messed up a little bit with spaces and lines not lining up, paragraphs not matching the letter, things like that. I would concentrate more on what the content of the email is. Kinda sounds like a scam letter to me if she's not addressing your questions and talks about things out of the blue.

I haven't seen anything quite like that, although I haven't received an email via an online translator. I do know some forum posters who use big slabs of unbroken text and others who use short sentences always on new lines though.

I did speak to my known Russian contact today and she asked about the weather first!
