Hello!!!!

I am in Omsk now at an internet cafe....

BTW has anyone seen my luggage??????

Well, everything is fine. Life is good and i've starting to relax a bit.

Oddly, my shyness returned in full effect!!!! I hadn't been that shy in years!!!!!!

Andrei has been my guide and has been most helpful. When I return (or if I can somehow get internet access for my laptop) I will post some photos.

As for Nxxxxxx well...... she was more than I expected. Very outgoing, very welcoming...actually more than I expected and more than I am used to..... what a suprise!!!!!!

I must admit i'm hooked, addicted!

Oh well

Whatsup people thats me the Russian guy!!!!

Me & Mark finally in the same place & time!!!

Been rollin around the city for a few hours now, ate some Russian food (looks like he's still alive)))), met some people that look at him as if he's a sightseeing or smth (dont forget he's the only black man in the whole city)), and tomorrow we'll see a hockey game!!!!!!!

hahahaa the girl seems to like him too

surprisingly she was the one that caught cold yesterday, not him.... he only freeezed his ears a lil bit)) actually \the snow has half melted so it's basically warm around here, Mark brought the spring to Siberia)))

bye for now, we're out to take a ride thru the city.

Going to a hockey game? Searcher, don't forget to bring a blanket. You and Nxxxxxx can wrap up in it as you watch the game. After all, you don't want her cold to get any worse, right?

Ditch the shyness. You waited a long time for this trip. Time is short, don't let it slip by. Be strong, be kind, have fun.

Searcher & Andrei,

let the good times roll. Haha, it's always a pleasant surprise to see the things in people we can't see on line. Savour the joy. Memories are what you are making.

OH I hope you and Nxxxxxx are having a good time together also
Losen up and have a good time, you should not even have time to think about being shy.

Searcher,

Don't be shy and have a good time. This might be your one shot with this lady. Sounds like a great trip. Maybe Andrei will show you the place where he pulled the beer truck out of the river with his teeth in order to save our most precious nectar of the gods

We're all waiting for a full report about Omsk and whatever else you want to share.

Hi,

Just a brief note before I go to sleep.

My luggage is still din Moscow but i will have it soon. I have to fax a paper over with the contents so the can clear it for customs.

Now, as for Nxxxxxx everything is going just great.

We went to a really nice restaurant, in fact I can say I ever remember seeing one this nice in L.A. I am impressed.

Sure, many thing are different here but they are working on it....

Nxxxxxx has been very affectionate, even in public!!!!!

I'm quite impressed. BTW for those who don't know. I think Andrei may have mentioned it, i'm not sure.

I'm probably the only Black person who has been to Omsk in years. I have been quite an attraction in fact at the Hockey game they put me on T.V. Andrei's mom call him on his cellphone and said something like "Hey they showed you guys on T.V.!!!!!!!!!"

There haven't been any negative reactions at all. The reactions are sometime comical because some people, with limited English, try to say "How do you do" or some phrase like that.

They have all been friendly indeed. Most people are just amazed.

One of the funniest reaction I got was from a some what drunken guy on the plane he said, "Going to Omsk? You're a brave man!".

LMAO.

Hi Searcher (and Andrei)...

I'm glad that you are having a great time

Thanks for sharing your trip details with us....

Searcher, I think that it would particularly be valuable if sometime after your experience in Omsk you could write about your experience with race and Russia... I think that it would be interesting for many people, and something imporant to share....

Perhaps you could even write something about how your experience with race has been different in Russia as opposed to your experience in America....

I hope that you have a wonderful time, and that things between you and Nxxxxxx continue to blossom in the wonderful way that they are now.....

We enjoy reading your experiences, so please feel free to write more...

Khashyar

By the way, Searcher...

Thanks for posting your photo with Nxxxxxx...

It's good to be able to associate friendly faces with people we know...

Khashyar

(p.s... feel free to post photos of you and Nxxxxxx (and Omsk) in the Photo Galleries)

I will be doing that soon

Have a great time there, Searcher! And I hope your luggage shows-up sometime before you have to leave! Great pic of you and Nxxxxxx! You two look cute together.

OK... get a picture of that rascal Andrei for us. I have a mental picture of what this Siberian Dentist looks like, but it would be cool to put a face to the writing!

Have fun and stay warm!

Hi Searcher,

Great photos, hope you are having fun.How are you making out with the weather.

Have you gotten over your shyness yet

Randy

Posted by: searcher

Hello everyone,

Yes the shyness was just temporary.

Maybe a few language barrier problems but everything has gone great (except my STILL missing luggage).

Well actually, they found it but for some reason they aren't sending it to Omsk....its still in Moscow

I will end up mailing the gifts I brought...

Now, the good news is that we are getting along just great!!!

When we are out and about she hold my hand or my arm. I suppose we are a bit of a sight but people don't seem to mind us.

We have both agreed to start the K-1 process so I will be doing that very soon

Posted by: mistermopar

Hey searcher,
that is great news , Congradulations, it is nice to hear yous will be starting the K-1.
I like stories with happy endings .

Searcher, thanks for the live updates! It's good that you enjoy the attention you're receiving there in Omsk. I'm sure you two will draw attention no matter where you are, Omsk or the US. It comes with the package, no matter what race you are.

Great picture of our man on the ground in Omsk. Andrei, if that dentistry thing doesn't work out for you, there's always a career as a spokesperson for the Dairy Council. "Milk. It does a body good." (An American reference. Searcher can explain it to you... ).

Good advice on which forms you'll need to get from when you are there, so you can file the K-1 paperwork. Have her fill out the Biographical Data form (G-325A), get a copy of her birth certificate (notarized. It's not difficult. Russians like to stamp everything for a small fee ), photos of the two of you together, and two sets of passport and "left ear" style photographs (leave one set of each with Nxxxxx). Everything else you can do when you get stateside.

Congrats, and keep on having fun. Less than 3 weeks to go until I'm again on Russian soil.
