I can't believe that it's been 4 years to the day since I met my sweetheart and best friend, Tetiana.
I can honestly say that these have been the absolutely best years that I have ever had. There has been some very bad things but her support has never wavered. She was my rock to lean on when a woman ran a red light and died under my truck. I fell apart when the cops said I could be charged with 2nd degree murder. (No wittnesses stayed around to support my story.)
She never had doubts.
We have been fortunate enough to have made several long trips to help her learn just how big the USA is. We drove from Ak all ther way to Fla for a family reunion on our first anniversary. It was a 2 month trip that was a great learning expierience for her. She even met Mickey Mouse!
She has made great effort and has accomplished alot during the 2 1/2 years that she's been here too.
All in all, I hope that the rest of you folks can become as lucky as I have.
These have been the happiest years I've ever had. I have attempted to make her as happy as I've been too. I believe that I have succeeded!
So far at least!!

Great to hear a success story Mike, congratulations are in order to both of you.
BTW I have ridden horses in the desert where that picture is taken of Tetiana on a camel. I used to know the area well when I worked there many moons ago

Let me be the first to say that I am very happy for you. I hope that in 4 years, I am in your position. I am 8 months into this relationship so I have a ways to go, but we are working on it.
The situation you described is my worst nightmare in this profession. I hope everything worked out for you, except for the nightmares that I am sure you still experience. To be honest, I feel its about time for me to exit this 80000 lb. piece of rolling thunder.
Hope you have another great four years and beyond!

Not to bad for an old gal! She's alot better in person becuse that camera cannot capture the sparkle of her personality! I was very lucky to have found her on my first try.
Back before my first trip to meet her I was helped from some of the "Old Timers" on this site with their experience. Khashyar, Jill, ConnerVT, JimFL and others showed me the best way to get the paperwork sorted out and all the same basic questions you 'newbies' have now. I'm just trying to pass that on.
Some of the other happily married guys and I are just showing you that it is real and it can work.
Thank You All!

I wish you the best Akmike. You are a lucky guy to have such a women. You both look like you fit like a glove. And she was your 1st trip there is great. I am on women number 3 and I hope this is the one but of course time will only answer that.
Congrats to you and a happy wonderful life for you and her forever!

Thanks RP! We know that we have been very lucky. We aksed many serious questions during the inital letter writing and although there wasn't any spark then it needed to be explored. The buddy I went over with on the first trip had no luck with the gal he went to see. Tanya and I couldn't converse with out the phrase book and a dictionary. She spoke as much english as I did russian. About 4 words each! But with patience we worked thru the first trip. I left some money with her for english lessons as an investment in a 'maybe'. A month later I was shocked to get a call from her telling about the birth of her grandson, Vanya. I understood everything! A couple of months later I returned and I was very impressed how well that investment paid off.
She had worked very hard and we were able to talk much better. (The spark started to grow) There were a few calls during the summer and I accidently said the L word.. It shocked/scared us both. But we kept working at learning about each other during our time apart so I decided to do an extended trip during the winter. 2 whole months!
I am self employed and I have the winters off so I had the time.
It was during this trip, almost 1 year later that I proposed and married her.
