This nonstop from Toronto to Domededovo is most likely a new flight, or perhaps somehow eluded my aviation radar. But it is an option to pass along.

Although it leaves late in the evening, it suprisingly will connect to flights going to Siberia and other hard-to-get places in central Russia.

But there is a catch....unlike Aeroflot and the European carriers, they only have limited ticketing and baggage agreements with North American carriers. In fact, nothing with Air Canada, and nothing with all but two of the US carriers. In most cases, you will have to pick up and re-check in Toronto.

The two exceptions are Alaska and Northwest, who have agreements with Transaero. However, it's essentially only good for the lower 48 and Hawaii, for all practical reasons. The Anchorage-Minneapolis-Toronto connection on Northwest does not allow enough connection time in YYZ to make the Transaero connection---checked bags or not.....
