I do not and have not ever belonged to a union. Texas was an open shop state when I worked there. Having said that, some of the hardest working people I have worked with were union members. And to balance that out, some of the least productive were also union members. And, just to make a point, some hard working people would never join a union. And, Wow, some lazy folks were non union! I think unions on the whole reflect the US populace. i.e. we don't really care as long as we get paid.
If you look back at the history of unionization, I believe you will find a good purpose. To say that purpose does not exist today is to deny that many people in upper management are greedy. Greed being the desire to make money without consideration of anyone except myself or my company. Have you seen "The Great Debaters"? There is an interesting side plot within that movie.
Sorry, but to slander an entire group because it "sounds" funny is a little on the low side of humor to me.
People are people. Doesn't matter if they are union, purple, FSU....whatever. On this forum, isn't that fairly obvious? I hope we are passed the "all FSU girls want is a green card", and all the other malicious comments.

Hate to say it....But, hard working American workers is not something I see everyday.....
