evening people....

as I said, I'm sure I've put this in the wrong place.....so after I'd taken the obligatory virtual kicking... Got a question about Russians/Visa's etc etc...

I'm in the early stages of buying an apartment on/near the Bansko reosrt in Bulgaria. I was thinking, if it ever comes to it, that it might be a nice place for a "non-specified" russian lady to visit when I'm there, theres restaurants and pools and all that nonsense..as well as some pretty decent ski-ing and snowboarding.

Generally speaking, is it easy for difficult for a russian or ukrainian national to get a tourist visia to bulgaria?? Do they even need one???

I have a suspicion I'm showing my ignorance....ah well.....)

Cheers people!!

Your ignorance is my ignorance; I will be watching for any good replies.

I wish i had the money to buy somewhere like that; I love skiing; its just a pity I am so cr@p at it.

say yes they do. But how difficult it is ??? When I look at the visa application form, its more or less identical with a Schengen visa, which is logic. They are going to enter that in few years.

I know a that russian and bulgarian are related heavily. She would have no trouble of understanding locals. So great idea you got. I just can't give the answer if its easy - but I think so based on a bulgarian friends info.

Found this: The Minister also announced introduction of a simplified visa regime for Ukrainian nationals going to stay in Romania and Bulgaria. He reminded that such a condition had been set forth by Ukraine and it assumes synchronous actions. In particular, Ukraine introduces a visa-free regime for nationals of Romania and Bulgaria in exchange of a simplified visa regime for its nationals. The visa will cost 35 euros Its from 4th of oct. 07.

Suggest that you can email the consulare section of the Bulgarian Embassy and ask them.

its luck fella, not skill. I wish it was, but the results are much the same.

I had the good fortune to blag myself into a sales job a few years ago, at the time I was working at a ward in the local hospital for troubled teenagers, anorexics and kids who hurt themselves and so on....loved the work, but the pay was terrible
Saw an ad in the paper for a job in a recruitment company one day, and just thought "what the hell"...the guy who interviewd me decided to give me a go, despite having no experience, probably based on my ability to talk to people and get on with em...

After a couple of years doing that, just thought to myself one day..."hang on...I'm billing x amount for the company, and when it filters down through the commission scheme I get y amount....Hmmmm, if i do this for myself, I get all of it"...

although now i get the pleasure of dealing with the inland revenue instead...

tell you what though, if all goes well, I'm going to try and get my grubby hands on 2 of em, because i can do my job from anywhere with an internet connection, i plan to go back and forth between sheffield and banksko, so i wouldnt mind getting a one-bedroom apartment to rent out. If i do that, and you ever want to go there, I can definately promise "non piss-take" rates for the place to people on here, I dont post much, but have learned loads just by what everyone else does.

I'll keep you posted on the apartment...

in the meantime.....russian visa's to bulgaria anyone

I was in Varna Bulgaria last summer. It is a resort city on the Black Sea, I met my fiancee from Moldova there. It's a great place and I was thinking of buying a time share as an investment. I would also use for a vacation spot for us and her family to meet. Russians are buying land/houses in Bulgaria because it is cheap when compared to Russian land. I'm sure it would be a great investment. Bulgaria became part of the European Union last year so there will be travel from western Europe also.

To answer your question, yes she needs a visa but they are very easy to get. Have her go through a travel agent which makes the process even easier.

done it, and now i feel like a lazy a*se for not doing that in the first place.....

Going to call the developers sometime this week and see how much deposit's required to secure one. Done a bit of research on the developer, and they are UK based, and dont actually look too bad.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Cheers People
