Having been to Belarus 3 times in the last 14 months I noticed that most people are very hard working, but do not have neither the time, nor the money to enjoy life. Most people work overtime without being compensated for it.
Consequently I think that they tend to enjoy more time together as a family, and know that it does not take money to enjoy life.

Again most people do not have a lot of free time, and I think that equates to not being happy.

Just my 2 belorussian roubles worth.
