New Site

Hi all, I made a new dating site because I got tired of all of the scams and high fees that abound on the net. Before I go posting the url I thought it wise to ask permission of the admins on this board. My site is 100% free to join and we plan to launch it next week, but before then I thought I could perhaps offer free membership to Russian Ladies who might want to try a different way of doing things.

Opinions?

I would also welcome advice on keeping the site as scam free as possible. One of my pet peevs was the fact that the free sites were always full of scammers and the admin didn't seem to be that bothered. What is acceptable? 3 complaints then delete account? More? Less?

It depends how big you are expecting to get; keeping a close eye on anyone who enters 18-80 on their ideal partners age range.
Keeping an eye on the Ip address and comparing it to where they claim to live.
Banning hotmail/yahoo/googlemail address's for email notification purposes; allow them for public use, but have an email with a verifiable physical location.
If you get a complaint have a person who can pretend to be a new member and write to them, to see what happens.
Any use for you??
Good luck (you are going to need it :-p)

Yes that's good advice thanks. We did intend to disallow hotmail, google, etc email addresses but pretending to be new users is a great idea and one I will definitely incorporate on complaints. As for us, we would rather be friendly and managable rather than try and compete in size with the big boys.

Yes you can advertize but not in the general section of the forum. Please read the forum guidelines at this address, http://www.russianmeetingplace.com/...read.php?t=3199.

I edited your edit your signature line.

Good luck!

I checked out the site before you edited the address, looks like another Myspace site, not a dedicated international dating site.

I would'nt give a dime for a free site (thats my personal opinion) I know some here and in my private sphere had luck.
I would agaian choose a small agency where a lot of the people there in has some contact to the administrator. A small research would show that. My wife meet the owner of the place we meet.

I met my fiancee on a free site. I also saw some women on this site that I saw on pay sites.

There is a lot of competition, but if they can keep the scammers out they stand a chance; I wish him luck, not many people are prepared to take the risk of starting their own business.
I know I tried and failed many years ago ( too soft hearted to be a hard nosed business man).
