Hi all, just to say I will be meeting the lady Ive been writing to since October on Saturday next - we have agreed to meet in Macdonalds Restaurant in Kiev .

To say Im nervous is an understatement .. I think we will both be nervous.!!

Hi - I got back yesterday and I met the woman whom I had been writing to for nearly 5 months .

God, she was even more beautiful than the photograph !! But I knew that I could not trust a photo or a few letters - I had to see who I was really writing to !! Call me a fool for love , call a me crazy , say fools rush in where angels fear to tread but I have only one life - I had to meet her.

And it was not a scam !! I was introduced to her sister's familly , as well as her mother and father . I was introduced to her best freind. I knew that when she asked me if I wanted to meet her parents that I was not dreaming about the reality of her feelings for me . Or how seriously she veiwed her freindship with me .

When we travelled to meet her parents, my heart was pounding because I did not know what to expect . I was wrong about the welcome awaiting me .
Mum had prepared what I thought was a feast for me - God it was like I was in heaven - all I can say is that I was welcomed into the very heart of her familly. Her dad proposed so many toasts and I just so accepted by the familly. Really the familly is the centre of their life and yes - the people of the fsu are emotional
I managed to make both my freind and her familly laugh so maybe I made a good impression .I tried to speak some russian and my interpereter told my freind that my russian was good enough for her not to be on site - I thought I was hearing things !!!

It was v cold in Kiev - it was -10 and I still think my refrigerator is tropical compared to the weather there.
I cannot really tell you much - it seems like a dream at the moment - so many impressions . I found out that everything my freind had written in her letters was true - I was so relieved.

I hate myself for doubting her so much . I am trying to get a multiple entry visa to see my friend more often because I want to spend more time with her.
I am a happy man
