There is a very big difference between the notion of "Russian slang" and "words and phrases you probably shouldn't risk using unless you're a native speaker or very fluent and therefore probably culturally competent."

Sites like this can be helpful if you want to know if you've been insulted or if you just want to have a better grasp of some of the vocabulary that was not featured in your academic study of Russian.

But you will be unlikely to run across any ladies who use this sort of language on anything approaching a regular basis, unless you are interested in very young FSU women. (Kind of like the overuse of the "f" word becoming more prevalent among young women in the US.)

YMMV, but IMO you would do well not to use this vocabulary around any women you associate with unless you want to come across as uncultured.

But it's definitely an interesting subject and nothing you'll run across with Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone. If you're seriously interested in learning more about this aspect of the Russian language, you may want to visit this site. The author is an American linguist living and working in Russia.

There is at the link I posted. I tend to stay much lower on the cuss chain, though.
