common dating points

Something just occurred to me. this will probably not apply to many people but...
I was introduced to my ex wife by my sister. I didn't bump into her myself. There was some "medium" involved (my sister in this case but...internet sounds a lot like "medium").
I wrote to her before I met her. About three months. amazingly, that is about the time that I wrote to each of the girls I met before we decided to meet.
She spoke a different language. Well not exactly but if you have ever dated someone from a distant part of the US, there will be some language problems! I still don't understand my ex occasionally! That deep west alabamian accent has to be heard to be believed!!
I had to travel to see her. A 300 mile round trip to be exact. I put a lot of miles on my motorcycle to see her. A conservative estimate is about 20,000 miles!! We dated for a long time! haha Oh, that mileage is about equal to what I have traveled to see Lola! that is funny!!
I met several nice girls before I met my ex but....for some reason or no reason they just didn't work out. Timing, personality and circumstances all have to come together just right.
If I had waited to meet someone where I was, under the right conditions...I might be a very lonely person today or an unhappily married/divorced person today. As it is, I am not pleased with being divorced but I am still friends with my ex.
I don't know why I react to romantic encounters the way I do but I am glad that I do! haha I have nothing but good memories of my ex and the three girls I have visited. Well, I am marrying the third!

I posted this within another thread so this isn't a glitch--I thought it might be interesting to see what the common aspects are between dating in your community and dating across the world.

Thanks!

I don't think there is anything common about the two at all. If it was the same then there would not be so many men going over seas to look for their other half. Its the differences that drives us overseas.

I cannot speak for everyone here, but for me, I am tired of the BS the American women feed the men, I am tired of them trying to act like men and judging us based on our income or what kind of car we drive.

Its refreshing to date someone who looks at the relationship as a whole and not "What can you do for me to make me happy?" aspect.

my simple answer but i think most prevalent to my mind.

The common point is the are all female....

A woman is a woman is a woman is a woman..

everything else is just details...

I don't care if a girl is here or overseas. If I really think and feel we could share a really happy and loving life experience together then that is what counts to me

Well I hope all the females I've dated were women!!!

I think Joe is looking or asking for the details.

Yes all women have their basic wants and needs (as do men), but their additional wants and needs differ from culture to culture and women to women.

One thing I've learned about the women I met was the intense interest in learning English. This was high on their list. I bought the first girl I met a Russian/English CD course. She also took classes (3 times a week) to learn English. The second girl (my fiancee) speaks English very well but she doesn't know how to write so I bought her a book that teaches her how to write.

There is also the religious, superstitions, culture, and many other wants and needs. Try whistling in a FSU house, you will get a lecture!!!

Maybe, I just think too much are made of the details on this site.

I think the point needs to be hammerred home, more, women everywhere pretty much want the same thing in relationships and if you get caught up on details too much you could go very astray and reading this site I've noted many many guys do because it seems they get obsessed in details.

Meeting a women from FSU has just opened up my mind to more women in the world I could possibly like but I keep the net wide open because I know an ideal women could be here or anywhere.

Whether a women comes from close to where you live or from other side of world you still need to get to know each other and each persons uniqueness.

Apart from that, the common dating points don't matter whether she is from Victoria or Ukraine to me. Women have the same needs and wants. Just because they speak a different language does not change much how they think and feel.

I've learned it takes a lot of "details" to make her happy. I've been a busy guy the last 2 months trying to get the house ready for her like buying her clothes, looking into a student visa for her son, moving furniture around, making space in my house for 2 more people, and many other things.

I don't know too many women that would let a man buy her clothes and I don't think an American woman would need a student visa for her child for the USA, or organizing furniture. Most US women want to do house/home things themselves ... and tell us men how to do it!!!

Wow... you sure you are not into being a submissive and dominatrix culture?

I sense there is more to GTR than you been letting on ..

but seriously some of the details you brought up are not actually about *dating* as such

what you are talking about is something else when two people have decided to live together
