Hi All,

I'm a newbie on the Russian dating scene, but I'm shortly going off to Sevastopol. I met a girl through Elena's and went through the email and phone stages. I was keen to meet her, and we have spent the last week trying to sort out a mutual date through our respective jobs - nightmare. Eventually we settled on next week! It's that or next year.

I've read the various travel posts, thanks to those who've taken the time to post these as it's been useful in preparing, especially at such short notice. The point of this post is that if anyone has any useful last minute tips or advice or observations, then fire away, especially on things to take / not take and gifts for her parents. It's all pretty new to me.

I met my girl in October and communicated by email, then by phone everday for about the last ten days. It's not long, but feels good, so why not take the plunge? She's never asked for anything, has offered to meet me at Simferopol airport late at night and is even fixing up an apartment for me in Sevastopol, so she seems genuine to me.

Your thoughts or observations welcome.

Take your time and get to really know this lady. Don't use the "L" word. Don't be a "One Week Wonder". This seems to be a hurry up deal... Sevastopol is a neat town and alot of neat things to see and enjoy with a beautiful woman.

Yes as AK says, take your time and be careful, but have a great adventure too, they are lovely people and I am sure you will have a great time.
