It just seems to happen on here because it works slightly differently.|

In the past I have just put up with it, the reason I mention this today is that I had the same problem just now and about 5 out of the list of 20 so called 'new posts' were actually old ones with nothing new to read. Any ideas guys? and also, is there a way instead of having a link that says 'Show unread posts since last visit' then when you click on that link it lists all threads with a new button, you click on the 'new' button and it takes you straight to the first of your unread posts, this feature appears now on many other forums and is far far better than the way this site handles things. When you click on 'New Posts' on here it just takes you to the last page of the thread, most of the time you then have to back page or scroll through all the new posts until you find where you left off last time, just wastes peoples time IMO. Is this just me or do others have the same problems? |

It does not cause any problems doing this, it just means that whenever you log onto RMP it will think you are visiting for the first time. In IE7 click on tools, click on delete browsing history then delete both files and cookies. If you want you can also go into options, on the general tab, click settings and set "Days to keep pages in history" to 0. Browsers love to horde stuff and are, by default set to do so. This can help, such as opening web pages more quickly and remembering where you have visited before, but generally it is more a hindrance than a help, because after a while it can have so much crap stored it slows down your web browsing and causes other problems too. I hope this helps with your problem. |
maybe I try James solution next
