Hello everyone! I just have a question about snakes. Do snakes, dead or alive, mean anything bad or that someone doesn't like you? To explain: My mother in law is from the Ukraine. One day I killed a snake in her yard and left it by the side of the road. Now she thinks that I don't like her. I do not understand. Any answers or explanations will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Interesting question... Do any of the RW here have an answer?

She doesn't like you but it has nothing to do with the snake. Maybe it's your aftershave?
My wife says that there is no folklore about this. But sometimes women are called snakes if they are *****y.. Maybe she believes you're calling her a snake???

Did she ever mention having a pet snake?

Ya think maybe leaving dead animals around the house to decompose might not be something many people enjoy?

Of course, it'l attract many new friends -- flies, ants, rats and other scavengers. Dr. Doolittle would probably be glad, but normal people... maybe not so much.

Well, actually I'm a woman and the in law is my stepmother. My brothers wife was mowing one day and killed a snake. They live in the country, so she threw the dead snake on the hood of an old car that was nearby. No one uses the car or anything. My step mother then came across the snake and proceeded to tell my dad that his daughter in law doesn't like her because apparently that means something. I really just wanted to see if there was any truth to what she said. We have had many family problems since they married, so I just wanted to confirm if she is a truthful person.
Thank You All
