Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, Lena and I have begun "Russia Magazine," a nonprofit magazine about Russia, Russian culture, Russian literature, and everything Russian. And we have also opened a Mogilev, Belarus office of the RMP so that we can provide visitors to our website with more articles and information about Russia, Russian-Western relationships and Russian women.

"Russian Magazine" is devoted to presenting articles, essays, photographs and other art about Russia to those who might find the information beneficial and helpful.

We are going to hire an editor from Belarus who will work to assemble and edit each issue of Russian Magazine. Since I have experience working as a journalist for a newspaper, and as an editor, Lena and I will be Executive Editors of the Magazine.

If anyone is interested in making a tax-deductable donation towards helping us publish the magazine and to hire Russian writers in Russia to write more informative articles for visitors to our website and forum, then you can make a tax-deductible donation of any amount through the Wakan Foundation for the Arts, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts foundation which supports our work in gathering helpful information about Russian culture and Russian-Western relationships. I created the Wakan Foundation for the Arts four years ago with the mission of "serving Humanity and the Greatest Good through the arts."

Of course, there is no obligation to make a donation, and I do not want anyone to feel any obligation that they need to contribute.

If you feel that you would like to support the gathering of more information about Russia and Russian-Western relationships and "Russia Magazine" and its effort to promote Russian arts and culture, then you may make any kind of tax-deductable contribution that you would like.

If you decide to, you can make a donation through Paypal of any amount. You can go to this page to make the donation:

www.russianmeetingplace.com/donations.htm

Again, no one is under any obligation to do so, but if you feel inspired, and feel that the information on the Russian Meeting Place as been of use to you, then you may choose to give donations of any kind to the magazine (to help pay for the editor, internet hosting costs, as well as hiring writers in Russia who can provide us with more helpful information)...

Lena and I will receive no money whatsoever from these donations, and 100% of the donations will go towards the cost of obtaining more articles and information about Russia and RW relationships, publishing "Russia Magazine" and developing the magazine's content.

One of the things that the donations will do will be to pay the salary for the editor in Belarus, which will be about $100 per month ($1,200 per year), as well as the internet costs to publish the magazine ($100 per year to host the website, and about $30 per month for internet access costs in Belarus)...

If you would like to make a tax deductable donation of any size, you may read more information and do so here:

www.russianmeetingplace.com/donations.htm

Know that your donations will help promote and make available information like what is being presented on the Russian Meeting Place Website and Forums.

We wish you well,

Hi Everyone,

I didn't want to be evasive in the forum, but I decided to include a button on the bottom of the forum page that allows the opportunity to contribute a donation for those who wish to.

I was hesitant to mention the subject of "money" or even "donations" in the same breath as the forums, because I did not want to have a commercial association with the forum.

But I was speaking in the phone with another forum member and moderator, and he told me that he felt that it was o.k. to allow an option for others to contribute a tax-deducatible donation if they would like.

Feel free to post your thoughts and feedback about this if you would like.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to thank the person (who I will keep anonymous) who sent us our first generous donation today.

It and all of the donations we receive will be used to bring more beneficial information to the website, like in hiring Russian-based writers to write articles and informational essays for the benefit of everyone.

As I had mentioned earlier, Lena and I will not recieve any proceeds from these donations. Lena and I feel that it is important to apply the donations to doing good for others through making available more information about Russia, Russian Culture, and Russian-Western relationships

I also wanted to mention that we will be sending out donation receipts to everyone who contributed a donation (probably at the end of the year) so that they can deduct the donations from their tax returns.

We thank everyone for their positive thoughts and participation in the forum.
