Do you speak any Russian? Are you calling to a lady? I know that some of the Dating sites have translators available.

So she ended up sitting for quite awhile after work waiting for me to call. Needless to say she wasn't to happy until I explained to her she has to give me more than couple of days notice.
Anyway with work and all I have put it off until the last minute. I do have a number of Russian friends who MIGHT be able to do it depending on their work schedule. On the other hand I'm not quite ready to announce to any of them what I am doing. I will check out some of the dating sites. Thanks. |
} I had also heard that Lena (Khashyar's wife) can help with phone conversations but I'm not sure about that. How did you contact your lady, by mail? I'm lucky because I've been learning Russian for a few years so I can understand them fairly well. (but still have problems with grammar!!)

Let me know, but no promises here-just a big maybe.

Initially I broke down and called one of my church buddies, even though I am not ready for them to know yet, but he was at work. Then I actually found a translation service (A Foreign Affair) that would do it on short notice but the translator he gave me wasn't answering her phone and the other two were on calls. It would have been expensive ($60 for ten minutes) but better than missing the call for the second time. Then to make matters worse, I would have been late calling anyway because I was looking at the wrong time clock, Ukraine instead of Moscow, which are an hour apart. We had an hour window, so even with a translator I would have missed her. So tonight I get to write a short apology letter using a machine translator and hope she checks her email sooner rather than later. And I think some flowers might be in order. Thanks for the offer of help. I really appreciate it. I will let you know as soon as I can if I will be needing any. |
