I found a remarkable thread where a person took old photos of Moscow and re-shot them present day so that we can see how that city has changed. There are some very cool pics here. It loads slow though, but worth the wait.

The one photo looks like the summer palace at St Pete. I also heard the rosia hotel is no longer standing but haven't been back so I don't know. The river photos are amazing before and after.

Great photos!!! I noticed there isnt much change from the 50s. I also noticed most churches are no longer around. Part of the communist influence I would guess.
