I live in Arlington, which is between Dallas and Ft Worth. There are two very notable places for Russians to meet and greet in this area. There is a retail store in the Galleria called "Russian Island" which sells Russian goods and newspapers. The owner is a great guy. It's on the third floor.

There is also a great Russian restaurant in Arlington called "A Taste Of Europe" on 303 which makes authentic Russian cuisine, and also sells Rusian items. Valery the owner is a great guy who is a recent Moscow import.

Dallas Russians can also log into www.Russiandfw.com to keep current with other Russian people in the area. They have picnics twice a year. And the last one this fall drew over 200 people.

Good luck and have fun,
Steve

Thanks for the info about restaurants in Dallas

Actually, I might be coming to Houston in a few months, and so... I can drive north to Dallas and perhaps try these restaurants...

(I am going to try to build a database of Russian restaurants and shops in the U.S. and post this on the russianmeetingplace.com website....)

Update: Misha will be closing "Taste of Europe" in Arlington for remodeling starting on the 27th of September. It will be closed for a month. Go now because everything is 50% off. (merchandise only, not meals)

There is a new restaurant in Plano, which is north of Dallas, called Moscow restaurant. I haven't been yet, but everyone in my Russian class tells me it is "the place to go if you are Russian".

I'll get back to you with more details.

PS: there is a Russian/American picnic this month in Grapevine. Go to www.Russiandfw.com for details.
