Hello Everyone,

Lena and I wanted to create an internet resource and website directory of anything Russian on the web....

So, we created the "Russian Internet Guide" on its own seperate website (www.russianinternetguide.com ).

The site was JUST created over the past few days, but we would love for you to visit the site and give us feedback and comments....

(You can even register at the site if you would like so that you can post your own reviews, comments and articles there).

I would especially love your feedback as to what categories we should add.... (I added some categories based upon what I thought would be interesting)....

We are going to offer the site in both Russian and English, and I am not sure yet whether we will combine the Russian and English language sections on the same site, or make one site completely in English, and one site compeltely in Russian....

If we decide to put both the Russian and English sites onto the same site, then Lena will need to translate the templates from English into Russian and each user can choose themselves which language they would like to review the site in....

Thank you for your feedback and comments...

Khashyar

(P.S.: also keep in mind that we have not added any specific websites into the directory yet (except a couple of test links for the Russian Meeting Place)

Here is the logo that we developed for the site:

We have also begun to create "Russia Magazine," which for now will also be on that website.....

(Feel free to submit any original articles, essays, poems or photos for Russia Magazine)....

Lena and Khashyar,

The site looks nice, but needs more content!! Is there anything we Discussion members can do to help?

Hi Keven...

Yes.. we just installed the software today on the website So... yes, we need to add content, website resources, etc...

Maybe what others can do to help is to:

1) make a list of your favorite internet resources and websites regarding Russia. You could email those resources to me, or.... submit them directly on the Russian Internet Guide site... (or, perhaps even post them here ) Which websites and web resources about Russian would you most recommend to others??

2) help us decide which additional web directories to add...

and 3) Help write articles, essays, poems and send us your photos for "Russia Magazine," which is also on the site... (We may also be looking for co-editors for Russia Magazine.... )

Thanks for your feedback, Kevin...

Hi Kevin (and Everyone)...

I just created a "User-Submitted Websites Area" on the Russian Internet Guide site www.russianinternetguide.com where you can submit your most favorite Russian websites and Russian Internet resources....

Thank you for helping to build this Russian Internet Guide for everyone to benefit from...

Hello Everyone...

I want to thank those of you who ahve submitted links to the Russian Internet Guide Directory

I just purchased some software that can help me mass import helpful links of our choice into R.I.G.'s link directory, and I am going to continue to add links and categories of links into it....

I have just added many links to the news section (for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus)......

It is going to take some time, but.... I am going to continue to add more and more links and categories....

We have about 100 links added at this time...

Thanks,

Khashyar

Hi
It seems I be doing some work.

You know I have a extended link collection, gathered over the past years.
But I really thing nobody wants it. Just see how little the link section is visited along with the other categories you have here.

Post them. I am always looking for things that you may already have. Help save me time. Thanks

Hi Brian and Spamer...

Brian.. feel free to post your links in the new links page that we have created for the RMP website... www.russianmeetingplace.com/links

And/or the RussianInternetGuide...

Spamer... thanks for the links that you posted to the RIG

Hi Everyone...

So far, 768 links have been imported and added to the Russian Internet Guide...

Most of these links are specifically concerning "Russia," (excluding many links for traveling and dating), so we should have a large amount of links in the database by the time we are finished

Almost all of the links added so far are non-business links-- I will bring in more business websites in once I have built the links' database...

I also need to include links for Ukraine and Belarus, which I will do after adding the links for Russia...

(And I have to restructure many of the categories)...

Hi Everyone,

I just added about 600 new website listings to the Russian Internet Guide, particularly for Ukraine the Belarus.

I am going to continue to add more website listings there, and soon I will start to actively "market" the site to webmasters of Russian websites so that it can be a very active and dynamic Russian Internet Guide

Hi Lots of information on the site. You may be in danger of having too much in fact. The sites I have used before when travelling to Russia (only Moscow really) are below. Having been to Moscow, I thought a few links to useful websites might help. Maybe you want to add them?

http://www.themoscowtimes.com The obvious choice for latest news

http://www.discovermoscow.com Information on lots of Moscow things

http://www.moscowcity.com/ Restaraunts in Moscow

http://moscow.craigslist.org/ The old familiar, ugly but well used.

http://www.expat.ru/ An expat site

http://www.moscow-city.ru Tourism Committee Site

Strangely enough the .com site is for Moscow USA. Whats a strange world.

Keep building it, as St. Petersburg is my next trip.

Cheers
