Car Dealer in Western Russia anyone?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am looking to make contact with an honest used car dealer (yes I know its a contradiction!) in somewhere like Saint Petersburg, Novgorod, Velikie Luki, Smolensk or the EU border areas.

Maybe someone has a wife who has a brother or something?

Also, when I was in Poland recently, there are vast volumes of used cars being took up there from Germany, Holland, France etc. Some continue on into Lithuania and then go sideways into Belarus, Ukraine and other places including the Stans I am told.

Does anyone know anything about the used car import market from the EU into any of these countries?

Despite Russia being Left Hand Drive, I am told by some that Right Hand Drive cars are accepted by many in Russia at a lesser price, I can understand that in the East near Japan, (as Japan is RHD) but has anyone seen any Right Hand Drive cars in the West of Russia in any significant numbers?

Go to the red tape forum and look in the buy/sell area. There are lots of people living in Russia who post lots of automobile posts.

Eastern Russia does get lots of used cars from Japan and Korea. The cars have usually transferred hands 3 or 4 times before ending up in Russia. Most cars I saw where LHD, but I did see some Japanese RHD vehicles scattered throughout. I think Russian view point is like most people's view point, Japanese cars are reliable.

There's many RHD cars in Russia. They are the most popular nearly everywere now. In mine city nearly 60% cars are RHD.
