UK / Russian relations between prospective partners.

We have been actively discussing the political events of recent but I am very interested to know if there are implications here for prospective relationships between the two countries as regards UK men and RW that are not currently ongoing.
A freind of mine says he has had few replies from the RW he was corresponding with since the recent tensions.
Of course the media on both sides have tried to score points in their reporting.
I was actively reading the BBC online forums in which Russians were invited to have their say and the vast majority were scathing to a point that I began to wonder if this will have a short term effect on those men in the UK seeking the RW as their future beloved.
I wonder if someone could translate this for me and post it in the Russian forums so that it may be possible to see if this is indeed the case.

Of course I have an online translator and could do this myself but I know there are experts here who will make sure that it gets the question over correctly.

Hi Martin,

Seida got from Russian news channels on the 'net that there could be repercussions in the UK for those who haven't got ILR - made apparently by a UK politician.

I told her that it is cobblers - especially now with Human Rights and all - but there is obviously scaremongering happening.

It's a bit sad when politicians who clearly aren't doing their jobs right want to upset the populace; but if they didn't do that, they wouldn't have jobs

Whenever have the press and gov't releases not made a focus of 'the view in the worst light'.
Let's face it, they want everything to appear 'spectacular' which is why they prefer to show a house on fire than children happily playing.
And make no mistake, we, the public, are the children of their outlook.

I am with you on that point Ade,in the sense that IDR cannot really feature in this unless there is criteria thats required that falls short of the rules ie; that you will not be leaving your husband and plan to carry on living together in the forseeable future (ahem cough )...........

Or other breaches that are widely known about and as you know are addressed with vigour at the app stage.

The reason for my post here was to have the views of Rw or partners expressing fears they have heard from their other halfs.
Personally I think that they certainly are influenced by whats appearing in the Moscow news very much in the same way that people here too are concerned at what the media here is projecting.
Sadly this is not a news of the World story that some reporter has made up but an ongoing war of diplomacy that does neither country any good,of course if you have any vested interests as we do here.
Lets be honest Ade.......The average Uk guys and Girls too have not a clue but are either of the opinion that they dont trust Russia and would never go there.......are lovers of Sea and sunshine with cheap 24 hour beer so always go to Spain or where the lager flows 24 hours....Or have no understanding and no desire to want to know why any English guy would want to go there in the first place.
To coin the English Womans expression.......whats wrong with us ?
What do they have that we dont?
I have had many arguements with this......or should I say discussions.
Its my thinking that aside from those in the Embassy who feel Russia may be a naughty word for the moment.....it adds a little ammo for those who want to find it also.
