Hi Everyone....

Lena and I decided that it would be useful for and serve the needs of Russian-speaking women if we, in addition to having our mostly English language forum, create a seperate ALL Russian language forum that is intended to be used by Russian and Western women who can speak with one another in the Russian language....

We are still planning on keeping the Russian language sections in this main English forum so that Russian and non-russian speakers can practice their Russian and continue to be a part of the English language forums, but.... we decided to create a seperate all-Russian forum also....

We are still designing and developing categories for this new all-Russian forum, but...... You are welcome to visit it and give us your feedback...

We would especially love to hear from those of you who speak Russian, so that you can look at the new forum and help us include topics in the Russian language that would be useful for Russian women (and non-Russian women who speak Russian )

The new forum is located at:
www.russianmeetingplace.com/russianforum

We would love feedback as to what you believe that would best serve the needs of Russian women: which topic categories, etc...

Thank you for your contributions...

By the way, we are also going to include prominent links between the Russian and Western language forums so that people can easily traverse between the two forums....

Posted by: andrei

That's cool but.... don't you think that there are too much sections on this forum (the English one)? I men , some of the sections are less live than cemeteries. Maybe you should unite most of them into one?

Posted by: Khashyar

Yes, Andrei...

There are some of the English language forums that are not active and they could probably be consolidated into others and closed...

Thanks for your feedback...

Hello Everyone...

A male member of our discussion forums told me that he thought that his Russian fiance would enjoy participating in the all-Russian forums, so that she could speak candidly about her thoughts and feelings about moving to the West, as well as ask questions about what life in America is like and receive feedback from Russians who already live in the West....

Lena would be happy to answer any of your Russian friends/ fiance's/ wives questions in the new Russian language forum...

We made the new all-Russian language forum VERY easy to register (without email verification) so that Russian speakers who don't have a lot of experience with Russian can easily register, sign on and begin writing and participating...

I think that Lena is going to direct some or many of her Russian language email questions to the forum so that we can begin the Russian language dialogue...

I am hoping that there will be crossover, and people in the Russian forums will come the English side and participate in the English language discussions as well...

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to mention that our Russian language forum (http://www.russianmeetingplace.com/russianforum/) is doing very well, adn is very popular with Russian speakers.

I already see that it not only allows Russian women (mostly) to speak about issues that are important to them regarding Russian-Western relationships (in their own language), but it also is encouraging more Russian natives to join and participate in our English language forums....

Once the pages and threads in the Russian language forum begin to be indexed in search engines, we should receive even more Russian-speaking visitors to our forums and to our website....

Lena is doing a good job of organizing the forum setions in the Russian language forum, as well as moderating the conversations there

Another note...

The Russian language forum receives several new posts every day (sometimes as much as 20 or more....)

The all-Russian woman continues to be very active, and Lena tells me that the girls (and one or two Russian men) there have wonderful and lively conversations...

Perhaps a Russian speaker could occasionally translate some of the conversations there and share them with us more limited English-speakers

Our English-language discussion forum has a total of 13,700 posts, compared to a rapidly increasing 3,562 posts in the Russian Language Forum (which opened less than 6 months ago).

For those who like statistics this means that the Russian Language Forum has 26% as many posts as the English forum does, and the English forum has been in existance one year longer.

I wanted to keep everyone updated...

p.s.... Feel free to tell your Russian girlfriends/boyfriends, fiances and spouses that they are very welcome to join the conversations in the All-Russian language forums...

Hi Kashyar,

I think it's great that Russian speaking forum is so active. Is it possible that some of the posts will be translated to English. Since I no longer have a Ruassian speaking fiancee, I would be interested in some of the discussions, particularly how the women are adjusting to life in the west, likes/dislikes, etc.

Also, would you please check out a post I wrote dated 5/27 titled scam discusssion under therussianmeeting place.com section?

Thanks. Wish I was going to Belarus but I teach school in September. Very disappointed my situation didn't work out. Thought Odessa was going to be my second home town.

Continued success and luck.

Hi Everyone,

I am very pleased with how the Russian language forum continues to grow rapidly...

It seems as if it has reached an excelerating forward momentum where it is attracting more and more Russian-speaking members every day (which complements the English language discussions that we are having in the English forum).

As of today (March 11, 2005), the Russian language forum has:

333 members
and
10516 posts

Our English language forum has:

2,696 members
and
27,364 posts

The Russian language forum is receiving an average of 3 or 4 new members every day.

And Lena tells me that there are some interesting discussions occuring there. (Many Russian women in that forum are already in America and are discussing topics such as their new life in the West, finding a job, cultural adaptation, as well as their relationships).

Feel free to paste some of the text from the Russian language forum into translation software and see what they are talking about...

Hi Everyone,

The forum software for the Russian Language forum (on the RMP) is installed and being actively used.

We had to change to software from phpbb software to the new software because a hacker was able to get through a security hole in the free phpbb software.

But, the new forum software has a nice look and many many expanded features.

I would upgrade our English language forum software to this new version, except for the fact that we have many mofications to this software and it would take A LOT of work to make the software upgrade.

Feel free to take a look at the new Russian language RMP forum:

Hi Everyone,

I just noticed that the RMP English forum has reached 5,000 threads.

I wanted to update you on the statistics of the RMP Russian language forum versus the English language forum:

On March 11, 2005, these were the numbers for the two forums:

Quote:
Forum --------- Members - Threads - Posts

Russian Forum--- 333 - ? - 10516

English Forum--- 2,696 - ? - 27,364

These are the stats as of Today (October 19, 2005) :

Quote:
Forum --------- Members - Threads - Posts

Russian Forum--- 634 - 899 - 20,310

English Forum--- 3,651 - 5,000 - 41,900

So, since March, the members in the Russian forum have nearly doubled (from 333 to 634), as have the number of total posts (from about 10,000 to about 20,000).

The English forum has added about 1,000 new members, and over 13,000 new posts.

I like statistics, and so I enjoy updating this thread.

and we all know how the ladies love to talk!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Paul.

Yes, many of the Russian women on our Russian Language Forum stay at home, or work part-time, so they have a lot of time to write messages and share ideas with one another.

I think that they also find a lot of support and comfort with one another in that forum.

I have mentioned before that there are a lot of VERY informative and interesting conversations occuring in the Russian forum, and a Western man could learn some very interesting things by visiting there, and copying and translating some of the conversations that are taking place there.

And, yes, Lena tells me that there are some interesting conversations about relationships and moving to the West there.

Hi Chris and John,

When Lena first came to the U.S., I tried to encourage her to write as much as she could in our English language forum.

However, Lena just naturally gravitated towards writing in our (newly created) Russian language forum.

I think that it is natural that a person would prefer to communicate in their own language, with people who understand them culturally.

Lena, and many other Russian women, really enjoy communicating in Russian, and I am happy that they are using and benefiting from that resource.

Hi Khashyar

The comments were only tongue in cheek humor and not meant seriously,

When Natalya arrives i will introduce her to the russian forum,

John
