Comments about new USCIS fees

Starting July 30, 2007 the USCIS will impose new fees. If anyone has not seen these substantial increases they can be viewed here http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedo...edule052907.pdf
Among other things these fees are “supposed” to lower the timeline the USCIS takes in processing. When has any US Government agency become more efficient due to having more money? The only way I can see this happening is that it will now take prospective petitioners that much longer to file in order to save enough to pay the new fees thus decreasing the volume coming into the USCIS. Well maybe it will work, DUH! Maybe they’ll use some of that new money to stem the flow of illegal entries from Mexico. NOT!

I can only hope that they'll hire more paperpushers that will be paid by job performance and NOT by seniority!
Although I guess that we're lucky that Tanya's green card re-newal application is already submitted but it looks like it'll be several more months til someone looks at it.
Nebraska Service Center seems very slow.

And on the tail end of the fee increase -
WASHINGTON – The California Service Center (CSC) is experiencing systems problems that are causing delays in the printing of certain notices. USCIS believes the delays are primarily affecting approval notices for cases decided between April 2007 and the present, although production of some receipt notifications may be affected as well. USCIS is attempting to identify the source of the problem and generate the delayed notices as quickly as possible. In the interim, CSC has established interim procedures to help facilitate the needs of its customers.
It just keeps getting better and better.

Oh stop .. stop ... you're killing me ... That was TOO funny AKMike. Oh I'm crying from laughing too much.

P.S. - I work for the U.S. Government but not the USCIS. Too bad, I could make some nice "kickback"!
