Does anyone know how many countries beside the US require an interview for a tourist visa? And do they want proof that you will be going back from where you came?

Its not something we use, and I think all Schengen countries dont.

Pretty sure UK and Australia require an interview. Most don't since they can not afford the man power that is required to do the interviews.

Yes there is a small interview for an Aussie tourist visa but it is not inperson. Only a handful of questions over the phone and the embassy calls you, not the other way around

No they did not ask for proof that she would return home after her trip.

Unless there is something out of the ordinary about the application, she will not be required to attend an interview for a UK visa.

The whole system has been simplified using outsourcing agencies to collate the applications .

For all you guys in the US, Oz and NZ who are waiting, I am sorry to say that, my fiance's UK visa application took just 12 days from beginning to end (and that included 7 days of documents being couriered from the UK and, from her home to the agency)!!!

this only applies with girls from Russia. Ukrainians will still have to attend an interview at the UK embassy in Kiev every time, no exceptions. Sveta has had 2 visa's now and still has to attend an interview for her third.

Spain requires and interview and financial proof of ability to return for Russians but not for Americans
