Tourist Visa List of Cities

Hello, all,
I am planning a trip to visit a RW in August and am preparing the Visa application and will list the city I will visit.
I have read much advice about having a backup plan. What if your change of plans will take you to another city? Will there be a problem if it is not listed on the itinerary listed on the Visa application? Is it better to list every potential city you may visit? Or, as long as you arrive and depart within the approved dates, you can go anywhere as long as you register?

I have read much here and appreciate all the help that has come before. This is my first trip.

Once you are in, they tend not to care.

You can go anywhere as long as you register when you get there, but I have been all over and seldom bothered.

One registration is enough.

There is a list of 8/9 historically "restricted" cities that you are advised to list should you wish to visit there, otherwise there are possible registration issues.... Ufa is one of them. Hunt around the internet and you'll find them.

The advice of my advisors when I travel to Russia is to list every city you think want to visit. Both of them had problems when they decided to take side trips to cities not on their visas. As one of them remarked, you never know when some Russian official will decide to make an example of you to impress there boss.
Most of the Russian people I know also tend say that it better to err on the side of caution.

I think Chelyabinsk is also one of them.

As for Ufa, one of the reasons that it has restrictions, was that it was once a place where people were sentenced to hard labor. One of my co-workers went there to visit a cousin who was relocated from Berydansk to work in the mines there.
