The report I read said the president was handed his watch by a security guard(after it fell off) and he slipped it in his pocket! Didn't have time to read this story.

He did not have his watch stolen. It slipped off, was picked up by a security guard and was back on W's wrist at the time of the departure from Albania.

We saw all the pictures of the mystery watch dissappearance here on the news, in minute detail zoomed in and out, in slow mo and super slo mo etc over and over again, it wasn't conclusive if it was taken or not by a happy chappy from Albania

there was also talk about his ring being stolen, but I think that was put to bed at the press conference afterwards. He said he took it off and put it in his pocket

of course I am sure the US officials would be quite capable of replacing these at short notice if they had too to save face

Yes, that's the ticket. And twice in Paris I just decided to give all my money to gypsy kids. Or maybe I just slipped all my cash into my other pocket when nobody was looking. Sure.....

I don't know... I believe I glimpsed a hand heading for the buckle on that wristband when he first extends his hand into the crowd... but you get the benefit of the doubt inlove.
