One of the greatest sources for Russian news has died. If you never visited Mosnews.com, you were missing out on good stuff. Their site hadn't changed for a while, and now I know why. Here's the story.

Its a shame I used to like some of the more obscure stories they used to report on and some of the general information was pretty good too. I had a few items bookmarked but they have gone now.

Sad news indeed. i used to read it every now and again.
I still read the St Petersburg times on line every week.. when I have working electricity and internet that is!

Oh man! I used to occasionally read it too.

I liked to see things from their perspective and it gave me much understanding of the sometimes opposing politics between the U.S. and Russia.

Sometimes they made some very good points! I will miss them.

So, the weren’t the same, but they were supposed to be the same. Now wwww.mosnews.com had to give up its squatting and www.mnweekly.ru is the only official website of The Moscow News.

Do you think www.mnweekly.ru is the same site reborn? The logo looks a bit different, so Im not exactly sure.

I thought they were tied up with the newspaper.
The Moscow news is the first thing I pick up at the airport.
I read it from cover to cover.

I wish they gave them out on the plane instead of the usual rubbish

I was wondering why it wouldn't load, having been "off-line" since last October I am finding lots of my stored bookmarks no longer work.

Currently 1/2 the UK seems to be "down", I dont know how wide spread the problem is, but I know of other people in my area who are getting only patchy adsl connection at the moment; I suspect due to water damaged exchanges.

I didn't pick the best time to restore my ohone and internet lines did I ??

Oh. and "HI EVERYBODY!!", it's good to be back.

Good to see you back.
Agreed the floods have taken their toll, but now they say we are in for a scorching week
Iwont hold my breath but if it does happen the government cant hold the waterpipe bans

The hopes of a hot week are fading fast; several local schools have rescheduled their sports days for this Thursday, and it is well known that teachers always pick a day it will rain to hold sports day on !!!
