My Fiancee will be coming here soon (Kiev Embassy just got application paperwork). She will be bringing her 14 yr old daughter.

What is the best way and best place to buy tickets? I have heard that it is best if she buys them in Kiev. I have also seen on Glavs Travel that one way tickets are pretty good price.

Any help would be appreciated, as I havent done this before (not one way from Kiev to NYC). I have gone to Ukraine, but that was round trip FROM U.S. This is one way from Kiev.

Thanks

Ranjon

For some reason tickets purchased on the Aeroflot web site are cheaper than going through travelocity or expedia. Pick a carier, and go to their site.

This is where I get my visa, hotel reservations and Aeroflot plane tickets.

Good question...

and good answers.

I'm planning my trip to Omsk and i've already applied for my visa.

I found tickets for $779 (+ $89.72 tax + $40.00 fees = $923.72) at gotorussia.com

I had a travel agent in Texas quote me $794 but I don't know if that included tax and fees.

Aeroflot has an office close to me so I plan to check with them. They may be cheaper as I won't have to pay any broker fees. Also they fly directly to Moscow (where i'd have to change planes anyway) instead of landing somewhere else, changing planes then heading to Moscow.

fly from your city to Frankfurt Germany. There you can get a flight direct to most Siberian cities on Siberia Air. Find a Russian travel agent in your city and they can be of help.

I really appreciate all your help and responses, but I think something got mixed up somewhere.

I need info on one way trip tickets that my Fiancee will use for her and her daughter to come to NYC from Kiev.

The tickets are not for me. I went to russia-travel, but the "from" only has "Moscow" as a choice. The departure city is Kiev. Other travel websites do not have Kiev as a departure choice.

I need to know:

1) are one way tickets better than round trip? or is there no difference?

2) is it better if I purchase tickets here, or if she purchases tickets there? I have heard that it is better if she purchases in Kiev.

I appreciate any responses.

Thanks

Ranjon

one way is cheaper most of the time if you go on Russian airlines. Buying there (Kiev)will probably be cheaper but factor in your money transfer fees etc when you do it. Also my advice about a Russian travel agency here helping you is still valid and helpful. Check them out. Just go to any Russian store in your area or go online to your local Russian website. (for example we have russianseattle.com)
