Hello all ,
Glad to of found this site , there seems to be a wealth of info and I will take the time and read most of the posting . Yes this is my first posting and like you , I too have been involved with a woman from russia and just went to St. Petersburg in Oct/Nov to meet her and her daughter and had a wonderful time . Is it love , oh yes , am I a 50+ year old guy looking for a 20 year old wife , no .
Many thoughts and questions fill my mind , as you will see in the future . Up to and including living in russia , or at least part of the time , if any of you are doing this or have thought of this I would enjoy reading your thoughts .
I will try not to be a pest ( or at least to much of one ?? ) and hope to learn much from your experiences to guide me thru the K-1 process , as there are times it seems prudent to hire an attorney and let them do the paper-work , while I do what I do best ( I'am a boat builder , " I'am what I'am , and thats all that I'am " ) as with most things I can see both sides of the logic of the paper-work ( love that term ?? ) issue and have as of yet , not decided which way to go .
Thanks for reading and any answers , to these ramblings .
DN

I lived in St Petersburg for a year (and am American). I wrote a little about it under the thread on teaching English in Russia, if you're thinking about that at all.

Thank you both ( and all others for reading ) , some time it takes a while for me to respond , as I'am often away from my computer .
LeoN , yes doing your research is a good thing , at some time you will take the plunge and best of luck to you . In my one and only attempt at a relationship with a russian woman , I threw caution to the wind and let my heart guide me . Trust is a very big word for me and I do not give it lightly and I have been rewarded with the love of a beautiful woman and a child that I will look forward to raising as my own .
Vyensa , I do feel as if living in russia would be a dream come true , teaching english would not be an option for me as I 'am just a craftsman , even though I have tried on several hats over the years it is working with my hands , that gives me the most pleasure , when we went to the Hermitage , I spent as much time looking at the floors , doors , staircasing and the building as I spent looking at the treasures them selfs . It was looking at wrought iron art work that led me to finding my fiancee , it was by design that we should meet , I belive it was written in the stars themselfs , who me a romantic , hopeless I admit and one of my better qualitys !! .
