Hey dudes,

I haven't been visiting the site lately but I figured I would come back and tap into the knowledge that I know I can find here.

Inna and myself have decided to marry in Russia, not here in Florida

I have gathered my documents (divorce decree, etc) but haven't yet gotten them notarized, etc. but I am going to do that the middle of the month. I should be returning to Moscow in July or August then we will marry and I suppose I wait for the next 9 months

I will post more later as things progress, hopefully I can be like some of you guys and be able to share my experience and things I learn to other guys.

Thanks waiting123, GTR, Chippie and a few other dudes I cannot recall right now. Your support, knowledge and overall good personalities have really helped me, I greatly appreciate it. I have learned that your support has been key for me, people here locally aren't exactly rolling out the welcome wagon for Inna and things have been kinda ****ty at work.

Hey Gonlaz,
Great to hear the news. I know that there is a lot of speculation back and forth about marrying here or there. Please keep us updated on the news and time frames. I think that this could benefit all of us.
I fly back to Belarus June 29th with my son. We will be there until July 31st., and then both of us along with my Marina and her son will fly to Paris until the 17th of August. With luck I will be in the same boat as you.
Please keep me updated.

Brothers in a common cause. chippie

Hey Gonlaz mate,

I haven't been able to get onto RMP for a long time also, and it's awesome to hear things worked out really well for ya. Way to go!!

I'm also thinking of heading over to Rooski land some time in July, and was contemplating spending some months there cos Im getting a bit down being away from my honey for so long.

But I was just wondering about the visa implications of this move. I can imagine if you're going to live over there for 9 months or so you would have to leave your job at home. Similarly, if I went for any time longer than 2 weeks I would also have to leave my job.

What Im worried about is the impact of a break in employment when it comes to applying for the spouse visa. If we both worked over in Russia, say as English teachers for 9 months, would that satisfy our immigration departments that we can fulfil the sponsorship undertaking back at home?

This is the only thing thats keeping me from jumping on a plane tomorrow, and unfortunately I don't know the answer.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

scotch.

PS. Hey ira dude, I might see ya over there!! Even if Im only in moscow for a few days (it's too expensive for me to hang out there for long), it would be wonderful to grab a few voddys and pelmini

Hey man,

you don't have to be there for 9 months, I've been informed that you just get the papwerwork done first, then send it to your girl then she makes the arrangements at the local ZAGS office.

I hope I didn't mislead you, i am not moving to Russia for this, just going for the trip. Also Inna changed her mind (again) and wants to marry here instead. So much flip flopping is making my head spin!!

I will post anything I can to help out.

Good luck to you as well dude

Hey Gonlaz, Congradulations!....... I hope everything goes smooth for you. I am in the proces also of getting a K-1 visa for my girl now. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I would like to know exactly what has lead you to this course. Have you contacted the embassy there? Or has someone else had good luck with this option?
What I have read over the past couple of years is that this has always been an option....but....it was not guaranteed, and if it didn't happen, it would take even more time than a K-3 visa/standard fiance visa. I think everyone is looking for a quicker/more efficient way.
good luck, let us know how it is going.
and thanks!

Ahh, sorry, I misinterpreted what you wrote. I thought you were gonna stay over there for 9 months .. but now I understand. And yeah, the visa wait is a real pain in the b*tt, but everyone has to go through it

I think I'll make a new post about the employment implications of living in Russia while waiting for a visa when I get home from work.

Ira, I just found out last night my guest invitation will commence for 3 months from July 10th .. do you rekon you'll be in Moscow around that time? Ive never heard of Ulyanovsk before .. sounds interesting .. I'll have to look it up on the map tonight!
