I'm also thinking of heading over to Rooski land some time in July, and was contemplating spending some months there cos Im getting a bit down being away from my honey for so long. But I was just wondering about the visa implications of this move. I can imagine if you're going to live over there for 9 months or so you would have to leave your job at home. Similarly, if I went for any time longer than 2 weeks I would also have to leave my job. What Im worried about is the impact of a break in employment when it comes to applying for the spouse visa. If we both worked over in Russia, say as English teachers for 9 months, would that satisfy our immigration departments that we can fulfil the sponsorship undertaking back at home? This is the only thing thats keeping me from jumping on a plane tomorrow, and unfortunately I don't know the answer. Can anyone shed some light on this? scotch. PS. Hey ira dude, I might see ya over there!! Even if Im only in moscow for a few days (it's too expensive for me to hang out there for long), it would be wonderful to grab a few voddys and pelmini ![]() |

I hope I didn't mislead you, i am not moving to Russia for this, just going for the trip. Also Inna changed her mind (again) and wants to marry here instead. So much flip flopping is making my head spin!! I will post anything I can to help out. Good luck to you as well dude ![]() |

I think I'll make a new post about the employment implications of living in Russia while waiting for a visa when I get home from work. Ira, I just found out last night my guest invitation will commence for 3 months from July 10th .. do you rekon you'll be in Moscow around that time? Ive never heard of Ulyanovsk before .. sounds interesting .. I'll have to look it up on the map tonight! ![]() scotch. |
