Hello,
My name is Jorge and i am new in this forum. I reach this place, because, basically, i need some guindance, an way out, to the situation i live in the present. I made an invitation of short duration (90 days) to my girlfriend from Russia, we planned to marry here, and after this visa, she would go back to Russia to complete her errands, in way to move to me defenetly.
It happens that the Visa was refused !
We are lost now, we dont know if its better to insist, and wait 2 years til the next visa, or if its better to marry in Russia, and make the transcription to portuguese marriage. I ve heard that this process can take years sometimes.
And i dont know how long will take a process of marriage in Russia. I can only take 22 days of vacations to be in Russia and take care of this procedure of marriage.
I ask help to the experts here, there is any way out for this dream?
Thank you to all.
Jorge

Sorry jorge
I have no advice for you. I do not know anything about your country visa process! Can you appeal this discession? I'm sure someone on RMP can give you some good advice.

Yes, i apealed to this decision, whit a simple letter where i explain my sentimental reasons and also tell that there is no risk of illegal imigration (the reason of the denying), because she has a house, a business and a daughter, to whom they are dependent of my girlfriend. Now i wait for the answer, but i dont feel very positivist
Thank you for your reply, anyway. My regards
Jorge

Jorge, have you checked in the marriage visa process in you country? In the United States there are two ways to get you fiancee into the country. With a K1 and K3 visa.

Jorge,

It sounds like you tried for a TOURIST visa instead of a marriage visa (if there is such in your country)...

In the US, it is very hard to get the tourist visa, but I have not heard of anybody being denied the marriage visa. Sometimes it take awhile, but they get it eventually...

If you REALLY want to marry, you have to find somebody there that knows the laws or read up yourself... Sorry.

Thank you to all, but in my country, there is no Marriage Visa, unfortunatelly, so my chances are reduced . Or i marry in Russia, if i am allowed, or then i will lose my woman....or stay orphan of her .
Thank you to all, and good luck.
