They can stop you for not wearing a seatbelt but can only fine you if you have had another vehicle violation. The fine is $10 and no demerits points. Its been compulsory for over 30 years....in my state its a $200 fine for every person in the vehicle not wearing a belt and 3 demerit points for the driver.
It is a habit for me now. If i go to the drive in ( yes we still have them ) and go to the toilet...i instinctively put it back on when i get back in the car. ![]() |
