These guys have all sorts of cool stuff to convert signals so you can watch Russian videos on US televisions. They also have "region code free" DVD players for computer and TV, as well as PAL format video cameras so you can make tapes to send back to family still living abroad. Lots of neat gadgets

I have worked with video a littel. I thought Russian and France used the SECAM format for video????

Are they using PAL??

FYI: A joke told to me by some British engineers.

NTSC = Never Twice the Same Color

PAL = Perfect At Last

Hello Searcher,

I have asked Andrei about that in a different thread, and he said they are using PAL.
But I have also read somewhere else that most VCR's over there are equipped to handle either format.

Best wishes, Arnold

Yes... thanks for the link, Jim...

From browsing the website, the stand-alone PAL/NTSC video converters are in the range of $300 to $500, and you would connect them between PAL and NTSC systems...

Yes... it is my understanding also that Russia uses PAL (I am certain that the U.S. uses NTSC)...
