It looks like this is a good reason to find a good tour agency. I will be going to Odessa in May and I was thinking about going by myself, but after reading several horror stories of people trying it on their own I decided to go first with a tour group.

Hopefully, I will have better luck than other people have had. I must admit that I am still nervous about going to Odessa. Hopefully my fears are for nothing.

I am using the Anastasia Tour that will go to Odessa for ten days.
The main thing that I am worried about is that I have one main lady that I am going to see (I have been writing to her for about 8 months know), but I would also like the opportunity to see other women as well. I told her that I will be going on the tour and that the tour is set up for men to meet women and she said that she understood.
I know that she will want to see me everyday that I am there. I just want to be able to have the chance of meeting a few other women as well. Any ideas?

Rabbitt, I think the chances of you meeting a really sincere, good woman at an Anastasia social are somewhat slim.

I think you will have a good time and meet many young, beautiful girls but most these girls are looking to have a good time, maybe get a few gifts and nice dinners.

The thing you have going in your favor is that you do have a sincere woman to see, so you, unlike most the other guys going to the social, do not have to hit it off with one of the girls from the social. The pressure is off of you and so you will be able to attend, have a good time, play and dream, then visit with the lady you have been writing to.

Going to the Anastasia social will at the very least be an education.

It sounds like you went on one of these tours. What was your experience like? Would you go back again?
I have to admit that it seems their is a wide range of opinions on this matter. Usually once you talk to several people, you can get an overall picture, but I have had so many different opinions I guess I will just have to see for myself.

i did a social tour in june...a few of the guys were writing to women they had planned to meet after the weekend of the socials...they put all their eggs in one basket and waited to meet their correspondents after the weekend of the socials...most of these guys did not partake in the socials...when they met the women they had been writing to, two of the couples did not hit it off, and another woman was a no show scammer...the guys spent big bucks and ended up scrambling for phone numbers and available women to spend time with...needless to say, for them it was a wasted trip

on the other hands, i met and spoke with many women during the socials...i met a few attractive sincere women, not just young hotties looking for a free meal as Tex suggests

my suggestion, decide if you want to go meet just the one woman, or go on a tour, meet many, and then maybe allow a couple of days to spend with the one woman you are writing to...however if you have that much time and effort put into a long corresondence with a woman you may not feel as free to partake of the socials and the evenings out with the ladies...and she may say that she's okay with it, but deep down not really mean it and that may jeopardize the potential of that relationship....

not sure if its a good idea (although the cat's already out of the bag) to say what is happening at the socials...when I was in Odessa and spent a few evenings with two different ladies, each knew I was spending time with someone other than just her...that's the whole purpose of the socials...i had no previous contact with either girl so i was not committed nor felt guilty seeing one girl one night and the other girl the next...they understand (or should) that you make a long expensive trip and want to have as much opportunity for a possible ltr..

happy ending...i wil be making my third trip to Odessa on Xmas day to spend time with a fantastic, attractive woman i met at the social in June....both girls were great, but i chose one over the other (and luckily she chose me!) because her life was more stable...i believe i would have been happy with either choicei.... had the benefit of a friend's experince who had done two previous socials...he was able to point out the pitfalls and I was able to benefit from his advice and have a fantastic time...i can't wait to go back on Thursday for nine days...i had the time of my life on both trips and can't wait to ring in the New Year in Odessa

so....good luck in whatever you decide, but remember, the socials are not just filled with girls looking for a free night out and Odessa is a fantastic city

Specifically what are those pitfalls Pin Boy? There have been a few tips in some trip reports that indicate the subtleties of behavior by prostitutes, but other than that..............

Brad, I think the pitfalls Pin Boy was referring to were the many "professional dater's", working girls and women who always and only attend the socials to be taken out to nice resturarants, buying them gifts, etc.

Regarding the Moda Bar. I am disappointed that the Moda Bar is quickly becoming another River Palace. Two years ago this was a good place to meet local ladies. A year ago on an average night their would be about 75% good ladies and 25% working girls. A few months ago it was up to about 60% working girls. I don't go to Ukraine/Russia to find working girls so I think my days of visiting the Moda Bar are over.

I also believe my location of Moda Bar is a bit off. I know its in Kiev, but I would swear there is a Moda bar or the equivalent in Odessa. I can't remember where I read this. I thought it was a trip report on Odessa that's here. but I'm not finding it.

Tex, I recall also reading that regular girls, non-working girls, etc., were beginning to prefer a "happy hour" atmosphere after work for meeting. Can you confirm that? Again, I can't remember/locate the post where I read this, but it has been written recently (within the last month or two).
