Beating Scamastasia

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey everyone.

I have been using Scamastasia for a while but after some research, and with the help of this site, I've decided to stop using their service. The biggest problem is that there are a few girls I am interested in. Assuming that it is really them writing and not someone at the company.

I read the rules of the site carefully and they do not allow any phone or email contact information as it would cut them out as the middleman and thus ending their profits. The good news however is that they will allow the exchange of certain information. You can get phone and email if you use their overpriced phone service or you can ask for their snail mail address in a letter. By doing this you can begin the process of eliminating Scamastasia from your correspondence and finding out for sure if the girl you are writing to is actually real.

So for anyone using their service, this is probably the best way to get what you need and then get out.

The only way to be sure you will not get scammed by them is to not use them. If you do a search on here for them you will find few if anyone is satisfied with that company.

Better to use an agency where youy can contact the ladies direct everytime.

Very true. I would not recommend them to anyone after what I have read here and on the Internet. It's unfortunate that they are able to run an agency this way.

The worst part is that many people use them or AFA as they are the biggest agencies and they don't dig deep enough to find out that this is a bad choice.
I am glad that I did not spend too much time or money on Anastasia before I learned the truth about them.

Just a warning to any new folks to steer clear of them and look for posts here on the rep of certain sites.

Yes there are a lot of horror stories about them and very few positive ones. Search google and you will find lots of bad reports also.

If you need to know anything about them or other agencies, then just ask, there are plenty on here with lots of experience. Better to be forewarned than to waste your money with bad agencies.

This just looks like a search portal. Why would you search for a future partner through a site like this?

It is nothing more than pop-ups and google derived websites. Why not go to the source and look at dating sites, if this is what you are really after???

Just type into google what you are looking for, you will find better results than 12whatever.....

There is another quick way. If you are sure you want to continue talking with the woman, ask for her physical address. Then send her flowers, through another website and on the card put your phone number and email address. Ask her to send you an SMS or to email you.

Now you have broken the chain.

I wouldn't say that everyone on the site is dishonest. I am sure plenty of women join not knowing how expensive or what the reputation of Anastasia web is. A few bad apples have ruined their network; but for some reason I don't think they care.

Sorry Easy,
I totally disagree

The bad apples ARE the network.

They condone 'matchmaker' intros, but will never tell you that, thats what you're getting

You get caught up in an expensive spam scam before you even get started with any potential partner.

Maybe I'm totally the minority here, but I did the Anastasia bit, learned & accepted quickly that the ladie's first messages didn't mean a damn thing, signed up for a tour, went, had a blast, and met one of the ladies I had been corresponding with. She was from a nearby city, but traveled 3+ hours by bus to see me after working a night shift, only to turn around after a 5 hour date, travel back by cab (after I found out the bus wasn't heated...in DECEMBER), and go to work. Shortly before the trip, I had a freak out moment after reading the reviews on this site. As a result, I brought up little references and details that Olga could only know if she were actually doing the correspondence. All "tests" passed with flying colors, we had a great time, and have stayed in touch. In fact I'm exploring going back this summer. Nobody in my group had problems and there were about 35 us...5 were engaged by the end of the trip, and at least two more have since become engaged (probably others I don't know about). I guess I see some source of complaint from folks here, but just don't see how it matches my experiences.

Vic: I am not defending their business practices in any shape or manner. However I am sure there are legit woman connected with the site and are honestly looking for a relationship. BUT that is not the point....

I was just providing a idea on how to contact the woman if you think she is legit and have a connection, and quickly take Anastasia out of the loop.

Of course, they wouldn't be in business if they didn't have some success

(Not that you wont find your girl through such an agency, its just that you'll waste a lot of money in doing so)
I'm still very angry about how Anastesiaweb skanked me and cost me a few hundred pounds. It wasn't only that, I got intros from their girls, who didn't know I existed (and, which I had to pay to open). They continued the correspondence on 'their' girl's behalf (at my expense). AND THATS FRAUD

There is currently, a class action in progress against this company.

You shouldn't have to 'learn'. That means they robbed you BEFORE you learnt.
Now that may not be fraud, but it is certainly, sharp practice.

Elenas Models is one of the better ones mainly because the allow you to contact the ladies directly. There are not as many scammers on there, but as always, be careful, although I can honestly say I have never come across one from EM yet.

I met Z through http://www.allsinglerussiangirls.com/ they are pretty good about removing scammers from their website, usually a day or two after they contact you they have been removed.

You can exchange email information and then contact the woman directly. It seems most of the women on the website join on their own and it appeared there was no agencies in the middle of the conversation. After the first or second letter I would include my email address and almost always the woman would start to email directly instead of through the website.
