Hi
The 20th I be leaving to visit my Natalie, for the 4th time. This time there wil be some change compared to the 3 first visit.

The biggest will be, we hope to get married, but the hope however is not high due to paper problems. Another paper problem who lead to change was the fact I could not get visa to Samara, but only to Moscow. So when i land the 2oth, Ovir has closed Iand I must wait until Monday to get my registration. Then with train to make a 'unregistrated' trip to her city at the Volga river.

Since I must registrated in Moscow, it also mean that we cant get married in her city. So we must marry in Moscow. To do this she must have 'temporary residence permit' from Ovir in Moscow. Her train arrive 10AM and my airplan lands 2,40 PM and she don't think she have time to find a ovir office, get the papers, get the stamp and get the SVO in the almost 5 hour.

This was however not a problem since I have to visit Ovir Monday. But its a problem, because I wanted us to registrated at the International Zags in Moscow. They have not open Sunday and Monday.
So my solution was, have her try to get the temporary residence permit and then directly frm airport we would go to the International zags for registration, since they did not close before 6 Pm at Saturday.
Now we have to wait another day at a Hotel and kiss another 70 USD goodbye.

So It seems I will see a little of Moscow this time, since I be there from the 20th to the 23rd. (If plans hold, we will try to get a registration for the 3rd of January where we get back from her city, since my plane leave 7,50 AM the 4th).
The rest of our trip will be in her city. Her family has agreed to try a Danish xmas the 24th. The same day we return with train to her city in the morning.
Then its family and friends at this period. My Natalie has now exams and we will properly have a party with her friends. I want to see her city by nite. So that would be a first.

Two of her very close family has birthday the 31st and 1st. So the day after New Year eve, it will be family celebration.

Our trip back to Moscow starts the 2nd. and soon my 2 weeks in Russia will have finish to quickly. But if I am lucky, I be going home as a married man.

Wow! I must say this really sounds exciting, from whatever point you look at it. Call it adventure :-)

To me it looks like you included every possible options, so it will all end in success! :-) But I am asking, why couldn't you get a permit or visa to her town? From what I've read so far on this site I better start to plan my own first trip to Russia (to meet my friend Yulia) very early in time I guess. Ok, you should forgive me if it's a silly question but being a newbie...

Anyway good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I wish you and Natalie all the luck and happy future.

Brian, there is no reason that we can't meet. I don't leave Moscow until the 23rd. How about a free dinner and story exchange? Email me at steveinmoscow@yahoo.com when you arrive. I leave for Moscow tomorrow, and I hope to spend a couple of days around the 18th in St Pete.

Travel safe tovarish.

Steve

Hi
Wellcome
sorry for this one americans ( YEESSSS, another european)

From what I can understand, Russia has changed their visa laws for Schengen countries. Or more precisly, they try to adjust to Schengen standards.
The best you can do, is to ask at the travel agency. In good time ( 3 months before you go)

Congrats Jutman for your efforts finally will be realized. I was told that a couple got married in kyiv this Summer and then left for the USA. They did not register their wedding with the local government, this would have delayed the departure of the bride and groom. The couple also got married in the USA and registered with the US government.
Sometimes government is good and sometimes bad. When good people do things by the Laws of the Government sometimes things get delayed and cause complications.

I'm not sure if my email went through, so I thought I'd give this forum a shot. I'm in a flat on Gilyaroskovo Ulitsa close to the Sukarevskaya Metro. The flat phone number is 095-281-9121. Let's meet for coffee. I believe your hotel is close to Ismialovsky Park, and that's convenient because I need to buy a few more gifts out there.

It doesn't have to be a long meeting. In fact, it can just be a few minutes if you like. I just want to take the opportunity to give you a Texas sized hug and let you know how much I have appreciated your posts on the Internet.

Have a safe trip.

Steve
