Hi Everyone,

We created a dedicated article page on Ruskipedia (ruskipedia.com) about Homosexuality and gays in Russia and the Soviet Union.

It can be found here:

http://www.russianinternetguide.com...er_Soviet_Union

Anyone who would like to help add accurate information to that Ruskipedia page, or wants to contribute to developing it, can register on Ruskipedia (for free) and start adding useful and accurate information there.

Thanks,

Khashyar

Hea K,
There is tons of information, mostly at the main gay site in Russia .... gay.ru.

I can't imagine who would be interested, in that I have only met one other person in the RMP who was curious, but I did put up some basic facts and reference to the gay.ru/english/ website for further information.

I agree with Ira, it isn't a big thing and stastically a very small precentage are gay anyway.

On a sociological note, and perhaps political too, it is interesting to see how a budding new democracy in Russia handles the issue.

The EU is watching too how they treat it.
With the mayors of Paris and Berlin both being gay,
and popularly elected, we have an interesting range of acceptance to measure between the nations.

Thanks, Bob, for adding the information to the Ruskipedia page about Gays in Russia.

Ruskipedia is intended to be targeted for a broader group of people interested in Russia, so perhaps it will interest and serve people interested in Russian Gay issues outside of the RMP.

I made some comments (on the Ruskipedia page) as to how you might enhance the Ruskipedia article in the article itself, as well as on the page's "talk page":

Thanks for your efforts.

I added the Moscow Parade date, and it will take some time to do the others.

I don't know about giving out Nick's story.
He does not want to be outed online and certainly does not want me to say what college town he lives in because that will show where he goes to school, etc.

He is really afraid of others in Russia identifying him.

I will try to write a history abstract soon from the graduate level essays written and posted on gay.ru .

They did not say copyrighted, but I did not take the chance.

Cheers on passing 6000 K.
YOu da man!

Thanks for all of your efforts with helping develop Ruskipedia.

You could post your friend's story as an anonymous story if you would like (excluding any identifying details).

Also, I want to add some kind of photo on the Ruskipedia "Gays in Russia" page that would be a good representation of Gays in Russia.

Can you think of a photo? It would be best if you took it yourself, but I believe for an online encyclopedia, that there is a fair use legal clause that allows you to post one photo for educational purposes. (you could even post a second photo of the Moscow Gay pride parade in that section).
