What is the difference between Ruskipedia and the RMP Forums?

I can understand how some people would wonder why we need Ruskipedia when we already have a useful and rewarding community in the RMP forums, and a place to share ideas.

Just think of Ruskipedia of a place where we can take the best information from the RMP, and post them as articles that anyone can find easily.

Ruskipedia is an encyclopedia of everything about Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, that every user to create, write and edit.

Here are the difference between the two:

1) Russian Meeting Place forums:
Great for communicating, receiving answers to the questions that you ask, discussing certain topics and sharing your opinion about certain topics, and sharing your experiences and information that can definitely help others and all those that come after you.

2) Ruskipedia
The best articles and clear and oganized information from the RMP (and beyond) that visitors can easily find and learn from, write and edit. Ruskipedia is a user-created encyclopedia of articles about Russia, Russian culture and dating, and even Russian women (or men). You can create any topic or subject or article that you would like.

Ruskipedia complements the information at the RMP because RMP members (and others) can log onto Ruskipedia, add interesting information to different article topics, and keep updated information in the articles.

Ruskipedia can be a way to organize all of the best information from the RMP, and present it in an online encyclopedia that ALL of us maintain, create and edit.

For example, we could have an article in Ruskipedia that presents the most current steps in applying for a fiance visa, and update that one article everytime a logged in user sees that information has changed and needs to be updated.

We could have a category about "Russian Women," and whoever is interested can create and add to an article about "Dating Russian women," "How to meet Russian Women," a "List of Russian Dating and Marriage Agencies," and ANY topic that our community wants to create.

And then, we could go back to the RMP forums to discuss the information about "applying for a fiance visa," or "list of russian dating agencies," for example.

We could present clear unbiased and organized facts that we can easily access in Ruskipedia, and then discuss those same topics and info in the RMP Forums.

For example, I just created an article link for "Where to Meet Russian Women for Free":

http://www.russianinternetguide.com..._Women_for_Free

I did not create the content for the article yet, but our RMP members could post a list of dating agencies and personals that offer free ways to meet and correspond with Russian women.

A great resource for factual, relevant up to date information on Russian and FSU related topics, which will be easy to search and navigate.

Exactly, Chris.

For example, we could post an article on the specific steps that a Russian woman (and her fiance or husband) need to take to apply for an immigrant visa to the UK... All of the steps would be nice and organized, and logged in members could update the article and info as the rules change, OR... as they find new information about UK immgration that is not in the article yet.

This is a great idea Khashyar, as long as the information is kept up to date it will be a very valuable source for members and it will be easy to find step by step processes of all the major and relevant events in bringing a RW to the members country.

It should make things so much easier for members to find what they want to, very quickly but most importantly it will be current! which is sometimes the problem with so many threads in a forum tackling the same topic over and over again.

There are so many topics that could be listed where people would gain a major benefit from, without having to wade through pages and pages of stuff until the get to the bit they want.

A stroke of genius! :-)

Yes, Chris, I think that it will be a valuable resource for all of the members on the RMP.

AND... in the forum, we can always post a link to the article (of information) on Ruskipedia.

Let's all begin to post and create articles, and edit existing ones with new and improved information

Fantastic, Randy...

I appreciate that you contributed to our Ruskipedia section, researched the posts in the RMP, and then posted the information in Ruskipedia.

I read what you wrote, and added some information and made some edits to that article also...

Imagine the resource that we will have if everyone just contributes a little but of their time to the Ruskipedia site.

Thanks, Randy.

Khashyar, now if we have info for the new site that is not in the RMP,like the one site I added (singles.ru)is it ok to place it in the new site?Or should the new info be checked out first by you or a moderator??

I do find the new site a little difficult to get around, not that user friendly I think,or maybe I will get use to it.

Absolutely, Randy.

In that page (about free free personals), feel free to post even more info about free Russian personals sites.

Ruskipedia is an encyclopedia that ALL of us can add information to and edit (if we see things that need editing).

I know that the Ruskipedia site is a bit less user-friendly than the RMP software, but.... the beauty of it is that
