for RUSSIAN WOMEN only: What do you miss most about your country?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello,

I would love to hear from Russian women about what they most miss about their country after having moved to America, Europe or Australia?

Do you miss your family, friends, culture, food, architecture, language, customs, holidays?

What things do you miss the most?

How have you tried to find the things you miss in your own country?

Many people on the RMP look forward to your thoughts and answer.

Thanks,

Khashyar

This section is not very popular I see.

I can't understend why this thread is not popular... because I'm pretty sure that everybody missed something. I really miss my son, his wife and my grandson!!! I really miss my friends, especially my best friend Natasha :-( Friendship in US is different than in Russia or Ukraine.
I just now understand that I cant see my grandson as he grow's up... Now in my life there is something that I can't put together. If I'm here I do miss my son, grandson and friends from Ukraine, but if I go to Ukraine I will miss everythin I leave here. It is my choice.
Oh, I just forgot! I miss Ukrainian BREAD!!!! M-m-m- Yumy!
These are some pict's of the things I'm talking about...

I travel to Russia(St.Petersburg) every year, so I remain Russian in any way.
What I love about Russia - Russian language, humour, good food, how people are dressed, attractive blue-eyed women, steadfast guys, available prices......

I don't miss anything about Russia, except for my life-long friend. Literally, we have known each other for almost 30 years, and she is like a sister to me. If she would have been here, I would not have missed anything about Russia at all..

It's good to read your responses here...

I know that Lena misses her family, and wants to go back soon to see them.

There is also something deeper that she misses, and I think it is the predictability of knowing how Russian people will respond based on the Russian culture that Lena knows, as opposed to some of the ways that Americans respond.

In Lena's eyes, sometimes Americans think too much about money, rather than what is good for people.

I also miss my parents the most and my friends. Other is not so important - food can be found here in russian stores, russian language i hear when watching programs via the internet. I didn't establish any long-lasting contacts but i feel comfortable with what i have now. I'm here for 1.4 year.

I also asked my wife Vera this same question. Her response was she misses her family and friends but does not miss Russia.

On our last visit to Russia she said she was glad that we were raising our son Kevin in Ireland and not Russia. Her city has changed so much in the time we have been away, but it is not a change for the better.

I asked liuda and she misses her family even though she goes home every six months.
