I am just getting ready to go back to Ukraine, and I get this e-mail from this one girl in Mariupol I plan to meet again. She was saying to not call the number she gave me last time, as it is no longer in service, and to just wait for her to pick me up at the airport.

This comment kind of hit me strangely, especially since she was so paranoid about losing her cell phone at the restaurant when we met last time(which was found later). Is it because it is expensive to have a cell there, and/or she was borrowing one for a friend last time?

Is something funny going on here? Or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

Could be any number of reasons, but to be honest I think I would call it anyway and see what happens. If it is dead then you probably have your answer. If someone else answers you will probably have more questions, if it is your girl then you would certainly have a question or two for her, but either way you will get an answer or two.
